I have both keys and the remotes work great, but the loop that holds a ring for the house key broke on one of them. I know, from searching here, that the outer case can be separated from the all the rest of the remote and therefore that's what I need. non-working or not.

I'm eventually going to try the local salvage yard, but I thought I'd ask here. Last resort would be getting one of those ebay units.

They're also often found on ebay. I bought three of them at once for $60.

 

Same thing happened to me...bought a used one on ebay and swapped out the key and the transponder chip...worked like a charm. I think I paid about $25 for the ebay key.

 

Did you swap on the motherboard as well? If not, did you program it to unlock/lock your doors? How did you do it?!
