Default Xenon Bulb Pics

For anyone whose interested, there are now pics in my gallery which show the front of my crossfire with xenon replacement bulbs. These are not real HID bulbs, but merely near HID xenon bulbs that replace your stock bulbs.

I replaced the headlights, indicator lights (the small lights above and outside the headlight projector), and I also replaced the fog light bulbs.

The headlight bulbs are Naxos "xenon crystal" bulbs. They look great. Brilliant blue-white color. These are great and I'd recommend them to anyone. I had this same brand on my 97 Eclipse GST for 4 or so years.

The indicators are PIAA Platinum Series Super White. They are pure white to the eye and make a good contrast with the blue/white of the headlight.

The foglight bulbs are Phillips "Cool Blue". The Naxos and PIAA's are definately whiter than these - they aren't really blue at all, and not quite as white as the others - but still whiter than stock. I had these left over from my last car, which is why I used them. Later on I will be replacing them with higher quality whiter bulbs or maybe even some PIAA ion yellow ones.

Bottom line here is that from outside the car, the lights look great, and are definate attention grabbers. I actually parked next to my friends 2004 SL 500, and you can't see much of a difference when looking directly at the car! On the ground though, the SL has more light.

You can see how white and bright the lights look. These pictures were taken on a camera phone and don't do the car justice - the entire picture is actually much darker than what I was looking at.

My next mod is to replace the brake lights and turn signals with LED bulbs. For more info about that mod, check the tech/mod board.

It cost 35 bux for the indicators and headlights. I didn't change the high beams. I already had the fog light bulbs. I had to have bought them it would have been about another 20 for a total of only $55.
