Default Engine Cover

I've been looking for a new engine cover since mine was broken. E Bay has a used Mercedes unit which purportedly will fit an '03-'05 CLK 320.

Isn't that the basis for our cars? The picture looks good, but there's no opening for the oil intake

What think you??????

Don

That will work just fine. It's basically the same intake use on mine, and it's also used on C430 if I'm not mistaken. Mercedes part #1120901101

The front shroud is another separate part; Mercedes part #1120100467

I bought mine brand new on parts.com for ~$100 shipped. The stealerships demand $170. At least my local one did...

Pics are in my gallery. Mine has been painted though; OEM is flat plastic.

Very slick job on the engine cover. Where did you get the rigid looking intake tubes?

Thanks man!

The tubes are from TVT... ~$100 for the pair. I shot 'em with white to match the airbox. They are 3" aluminum and fit like a glove. Very little heat soak.

Very cool. What type of paint did you use on them?

Don, which cover did you break? If it is the front part, I have an extra, I probably will never use again....they make great wall ornaments in the garage...

I used Valspar for the plastic (special type that bonds with raw plastic, negating the need for primer) and I used the remainder on the tubes because I wanted them to match perfectly. It came out very well, and the heat under the engine bay "cured" the paint. Now it's hard as a brick and no problems with smudges.

Paint is at Lowes for $7 a can.
