Is it me or are the crossfire prices going up?
Is it me or are the crossfire prices going up?
Just noticed people bidding higher than usual prices on ebay.
For example... black base coupe 12.5K
Chrysler : Crossfire : eBay Motors (item 260593976860 end time May-05-10 16:16:17 PDT)
Yellow for 15.7K (yellow may be rare but i don't like it)
Chrysler : Crossfire : eBay Motors (item 260593985786 end time May-05-10 16:50:34 PDT)
Plenty of others at higher prices than usual... just wondering if the trend is now going back up to where it should be.

Suppy and demand- nice car for low teens! What can you buy new to even compare for the $ seriously.
Thanks
Don

I noticed that on the black base coupe it says Title issues and it was in an accident. I wouldn,t even consider it. The yellow one looks pretty nice if you like that color.
That being said I hope the prices are going up.

Re: Is it me or are the crossfire prices going up?
I am right there with you on this one. The Crossfire is damn near a steal for low teens. I just recently sold my Ranger do to transmission failure. Early on I had decided the my next car would be in the "hot hatch category." I set my maximum price at 10 grand and surfed on over to autorader.
I quickly checkmarked the boxes of the options I would want equipped
-Lift Gate (I have recently been sucked in to the high end caraudio hobby.)
I wanted all speakers to be located in the cabin including subwoofer for premium sound quality)
-Manual Transmission
-Leather interior
-Somewhat sporty 0-60 less than 7.5 seconds
-Good Looking
-Less than 75,000 miles on the odo
With that said I expecting my choices to be of the likes of an Acura RSX, VW GTI, Mazdaspeed3 and so on. (all used of course)
Surprisingly a XFire popped up as a listing, I figured that is was a mis listing and continued my search.
I can clearly remember my dad purchasing his new Sebring Convertible back in 2003 and wondering "why the hell cant we have that batmobile sitting in the showroom." (I was 10 years old.) The sticker price read $4X,XXX for that new black crossfire.
Remembering that moment I can't believe that I will have a 2005 SSB 6speed LTD (45,000 miles) in front of my house by the end of the week for less than 12 grand.
Since my first encounter with a Xfire back in 2003 I have become quite an auto enthusiast. I finality have a vehicle which I can take pride with and enjoy cruising around in. My 1994 Ford Ranger with 250,000 miles just was not cutting it.
Now I am well aware that I have gotten way of topic during this rant.
Never the less I am a perfect example of someone who never dreamt they were financially in the market for one of these beauties. As the praises of these autos continues to spread via their owners the price should remain stable if not gradually rise as the supply dwindles in years to come.
Their is not a single car out there that offers the build quality, performance, styling, luxurious touches, and livability of this coupe for the price.
Oh, and no one except for car enthusiasts are aware that it is Merc drivetrain and chassis underneath that great sheetmetal, the dealer selling the car did not believe me until I showed him the VIN sticker showing that is german built by Karmann.
