Default Selling my Crossfire, looking for a little advice on asking price...

I've got a yellow 2005 Crossfire Limited Roadster. 45,000 miles. I live in a suburb of Detroit. The car is basically immaculate except for 2 blemishes:

- curb rash on some of the wheels
- a 1" dent/crack on the front bumper

Looks brand new otherwise.

Can anybody tell me what I should list this car for? And what is the absolute lowest I should take for it? I've tried to get a feel for what they're going for, but I've seen a pretty wide price range... from $12,000 up to over $20,000!

It's been garage kept and never seen snow. Paint is prefect, no swirls that I can find.

Kelly Blue Book was totally innaccurate... It said private party value was $12,000-$12,500. It also said that my 2007 Charger SRT8's private party value was only $18,000 when I sold it for $22,900. So obviously a little out of touch with reality.

Let me know if I left out any pertinent details.

Thanks in advance!

I bought my '04 Alabaster Coupe with 49k on it in immaculate condition last month for $9,750. I know I got a great deal. I would bet you would be able to get between $12,999 and $13,995 for the Roadster. There is some on eBay right now for Buy It Now prices between $13,995 and $15,999.

sweet jesus... I thought "I" got a great deal on this car when we bought it! I figured "This is a $42k car, how much more could it drop?? I'm buying it after the peak of it's depreciation!" Boy was I wrong... It's crazy how much these have dropped in value...

Thanks for the insight though!! Perfect level of detail that I was looking for!

Keep it coming!!

I just checked completed listings on eBay for the last month. Only one Roadster listed (out of several) sold. It went for $14,500 and only had 13,200 miles on it.

I paid $17k for my 2005 SRT-6 roadster with 10k miles 2 months ago, and I feel that it was fairly priced. Mine also had curb rash on one wheel plus a small nick in the dashboard.

Based on that, for a Limited with 42k miles and a couple of blemishes I'd figure between $13k and $14k. Maximizing the price depends on finding that person for whom your car is "their perfect Crossfire", and that may take some time.

I found one like yours on eBay that did not sell, but was bid up to $15,701 with almost 19k in miles. They were asking too much on the reserve, but at least you know you could get closer to the $14k price range.

Thank you so much for the prompt and valuable feedback!!! I think I'll list it for $15,995 and take no less than $14,000.

PS-what is the official name of that "cream yellow" color anyway? I'm hoping it sounds just as bada$$ as Alabaster... Something about "Holandaise Sauce Yellow" that doesn't sound appealing.

Thanks!

Searching this forum, all I see is "Yellow." Kind of a let down..... I was hoping for something cooler too.

edit: I just found a website that says it is called "Classic Yellow." I wonder if that is in relation to French's Classic Mustard.....

I believe the proper term for the color is "Classic Yellow".

Believe it... These cars have tanked (except the SRT's) I paid $42k for my 2005 Roadster Limited new in 2004, when traded with a little over 32k on the odo I got $14k towards my XLR.

You guys think the residual value is low now? Just wait until 2012, when the 2004 models hit 8 years in age I would bet they will sell for less than $6000 regardless of miles.

I bought a white crossfire right at 40k miles for 9k and just a few days ago i bought another white crossfire at 38k miles for 10,500. in VERY GOOD condition. So i say you start at 12,499 and negotiate down to 11k.

edit, i just saw that it is a roadster. I think you start at 15k and negotiate down to 13k.

What kind of gas mileage do you get with that Caddy? Do they still make them?

I'm flying to Dallas/Ft Worth tomorrow to pick up my new to me 07 XF limited, then driving back to So Cal. Payed 16,995 with 1510 miles on her and 6 months of factory bumper to bumper warranty left. Then the 8/80 bumper to bumper kicks in. I would send a thank you note to the original owner if I knew who they were.

Anybody know what the official name of the interior color is? Is it just "Black" Or is there something cooler sounding, like Midnight Graphite?

I don't think they were Vette motors....I think they were Northstars & the Vs were supercharged Northstars.....

I've owned a brand new Vette before & I still cared about mpg. I've heard some outrageous mpg claims by some (newer) Vette owners.

I'm just curious, If got my hands on a good used one.....I'd probably use it as a daily driver....life is short!!
