New CF Coupe Owner
Hey Guys and Gals, Jerry from Jonesboro, AR here. I just purchased an 04 Dark Grey exterior Dark/Light Grey interior coupe, I purchased it from a collision repair shop where the wifey works. They had to replace the front bumper cover and left headlight, it has 70,000 miles and I got it for 5500.00 other than a few light scratches on the center console it is perfect. I've been lurking here for about a week reading the different posts until 2:00-3:00 in the morning learning about the car. Thanks for all the tech articles and bug fixes, I am starting to work on it tomorrow checking it out thoroughly. Thanks for all the help. Jerry

Thanks guys, yeah I thought it was a pretty good deal also. It does need rear tires and could use some brakes at some point. I'm a bit **** so I intend to take things slow and do clean up while repairing, thinking of painting the calipers Red and getting the Crossfire decals for them and upgrading the pads to something that leaves less dust.....probably ceramic pads. I also intend to repaint the engine cover a two tone dark/light Grey combo and replace the plastic air ducts with aluminum pieces. The car has sat in the shop since September 09 and was never picked up so they got a title and sold it. Its really dusty under the hood and is in need of major detail work but I intend to fix that !!! Thanks again for the great welcome, Jerry

Welcome, good buy, you will love this car, please make sure it is pristine shape before you drive it too much, we crossfire owners are **** as well and do not cruise until the oooooo's come from the on-

For the engine bay, I have found that using a 50/50 mix of Simple Green and water to clean the engine bay, and CD-2 to detail the engine bay works great.
Here is a picture of mine with only about 20 minutes of work using this method.
Big Al, I'm the same way, it's gotta look 110%, drives my wife nuts!!! and me too sometimes.
BMorgan, thanks for the info, I have used CD-2 on my other cars religiously in the past and it's GREAT !! BTW KILLER looking car ya got there. This will be my first Mercedes and first Chrysler car, I've been a Mustang man all my life but this deal came up and I couldn't pass it up. I figure if I don't like the car I could sell it and make 1500-2000 on it..............Jerry

The last Mustang that I owned was a 72 Mach1 with a 351 Cleveland and working ram air. I wish that I still had that car. I sold it back in 84. A buddy of mine is in the process of doing a restomod on a 67 Mustang. He is doing it right, and it is being built by Allan Shepley from Mustang Central. Allan has been featured many times in magazines, and is going to be on an upcoming episode of Trucks.
