Locked up steering NO Start

We have a GCG st Louis member (not on the forum) with an '04 coupe. Manual Tranny.

He has reported a sticky key and then a no start with his Crossie.

Now it won't stay running if it does start.

Any ideas?

I think the Steering column locking pin has been bad for some time and he has finally stripped the key barrel.

Please, I've searched the forum
If you know sumptin' Help my firend.

Almost sounds like a SKREEM gone bad.
Try a hard re-set - disconnect battery?

He can have my skreem module cheap if that turns out to be the problem.

I am kind of interested in the outcome of this, as it happened to my wife's '04 coupe. I thought maybe the key was wearing down so she is using another, but it is not much better.
