Coming off a record sales month for Crossfire, Chrysler announced pricing today for its expanded new lineup of 2005 Crossfires. The Crossfire lineup now includes Coupe, Roadster, and the race-inspired, performance-enhanced SRT-6 Coupe and Roadster. New Crossfire models start to arrive this spring. six-speed manual Crossfire Roadster is $34,960, which includes $875 for destination. Limited with a six-speed manual is $38,920, which includes $875 for destination. five-speed automatic and AutoStick is $39,995, which includes $875 for destination. Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 Coupe is $45,695, which includes $875 for destination. The MSRP for the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 Roadster is $49,995, which also includes $875 for destination. Chrysler will further expand the Crossfire lineup to include Crossfire coupe with an MSRP of $29,920, which includes $875 for destination.

50k for an srt roadster = good luck chrysler!

 

$29920 for the "regular" Crosffire--wow, that's about $3000 less than last year (assuming the $29920 is 5 spd.) Adios resale value on the '04 --oh well who cares.

 

I wonder if Chrysler will sell the supercharger that goes on the SRT-6 so stock Xfire owners can upgrade...

 

I'm not positive, but I'd imagine some of the engine internals are different on the supercharged versions. With most applications you can't just go bolting on a supercharger and expect everything else to work with it. I may be wrong though.

 

I'm confused...how could the coupe be "further expanded" if it is already the one everybody owns? :?

 

I think for $29k, they will be removing a lot of things. Such as, HomeLink, Heated Seats, Brake Assist? (Do we even have that now?), Automatic Deployment Spoiler. Just a guess. I think the SRT-6 is priced too high at $45k, thats a Porsche Boxster Roadster or Porsche Boxster Coupe, also you can get a MB SLK350 for that! Thought they may not be faster, but I rather own a $45k Porsche or MB than a $45k Chrysler.

 

One of the minor irritants of owning an XF is the occassional question, "Why didn't you buy a Mercedes instead?" I answer, "Because I didn't want one." I'm a great admirer of the MB product, but the only only model I'd seriously entertain owning is the S-Class. To my way of thinking it IS the standard of the luxury class (with the Audi A8L gaining fast, and the BangledBMW nowhere in sight). As for the rest of the 3-pointed star models�c nice, but they're everywhere and all over. I really like driving something different. Apropos what?

The $49,000 SRT6. Yes it's in the same $$ league as the Porsches, etc. However, if its performance is equal, or better, I'd still prefer the XF.

 

For $49k, the SRT6 will be a bit faster than a Boxster S. But in that price category it won't do well. I can get a BRAND NEW M3 at $47k, a faster car and just as good looking. I think the XF SRT is a great car, but the price is far from being competitive. I think the price will hurt its sales. Many people these days will not pay that much for a Chrysler, especially a impractical one. They will turn to higher marques for the same price but with more prestige. There will be few people who will still buy the Xfire for what it is and ignore the value sense of it.

If the car has great residuals, than thats the only way I'll be interested in it. The price is a big dissapointment to me, I would be 100% down for it at $40k.

Black only, 6-speed only, missing most convenience features, for $29.9K?

No thanks. I like mine just the way it is..... And I don't think a stripped down version is really going to affect the resale value of our vehicles, do you?

I didn't think it was overpriced when I bought it, and I don't now. The execs at D/C should have come on to this forum to ask what needed to be done to get the sales moving. The only thing I would have told them was to kill the person in charge of advertising the Crossfire and get someone in there that knew what they were doing!

I think that just about everyone of the current owners of this car (except for flathead of course! ;-) ) would be glad to give a testimonial about their driving experiences....

This would naturally have to exclude some of the dealers service capabilities and parts availability!

i think the detroit free press is wrong...stating figures...such as...the srt 6 having 320 hp?

 

its not the first time Detroit freepress was wrong... but I don't think the new prices will affect our cars much... from what ive always here this car isnt meant to be a mass produced vehicle... meaning after a few years they will stop this design... with only 18 - 21,000 of them each year... the car is not super rare... but its not a Nissan 350z either!!!

 

It looks like the Detroit free Press was indeed wrong. I found another article on Yahoo ( http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040315/dem006_1.html )
that states the "standard" 2005 crossfire will come in all the normal colors, but it will not have the auto transmission option, and not have heated seats, mirrors, etc.

 

:shock: :shock: Plus - this article says NO LUGGAGE is included!!! It's worth the extra $$ just for the luggage! :wink: :lol:

 

I think what DC is missing here is good customer service and the availability of Crossfire parts. Unless they get a higher rating in customer service for Crossfires then they're business.

 

Looks to me that the Yahoo article shows the Crossfire Limited Coupe, with Auto-stick and all amenities has actually gone up $125.00 acording to sticker on mine. That's fine with me, puts me in a good position as I see it. My Dark Graphite Cedar interior Auto-stick sticker was $35,570.00 and I got it for $33,875.00 . Gotta love it.
