Default how does it do it?

Most everything I read says the Crossfire easily exceeds 150 mph when actually "let go".

How does a car with only 215 HP do that?

I have a love/hate thing going with mine. It is a 2007 LTD coupe auto, never have had any problems with it, but bugs me it doesn't have a ____spare and I assume if we break down on a road trip it's going to be a hassle to bet parts, and someone that knows how to work on it.

I know....tough cookies, but I'll bet I'm not the only one......

Thanks for info!

Gearing.
i dont know how the autos are geared, but 1-4th with the 6spd is pretty short so it gets up to speed quickly

Its called aerodynamics, and tall gearing in the transmission and the final drive, not to mention, good engine breathing characteristics in the intake tract, and the valve lift.

My Porsche Boxster only has 201 hp and 180 ft-lbs of torque, and it also has a top speed around 150 mph. It has the whole aerodynamic thing going on big time, weighs next to nothing, and really has the intake and valve train set up for high rpm efficiency.

Well, if you're worried about the spare tire situation, just buy a spare for a Mercedes car, and slip it into your trunk.

As for getting someone to work on it, well, you would have the exact same issue if it was an actual Mercedes. Those people are a bit fewer and further between, but the main thing is that its still a car. If its a mechanical part, anyone can fix it. If its an electrical issue, then you're 50/50.

Worry less and drive more is the motto you should concentrate on.

BC.

When I flew to Dallas to drive my wife's xf home to so cal and they informed me it did not have a spare I could not believe it. 1500 miles home seemed like forever when faced with the fact you don't have that spare back there.

It was a great 1500 mile test drive in the long run with no issues whatsoever.

I just upgraded my AAA card to premier giving 200 miles of towing.

Your worried about flat tires and so you should be as I have done less than 16,000 miles in mine and I have had three punctures and one slashed sidewall. My extended warranty paid for the flats and a new tire.
Am I worried, not until the extended warranty runs out this year.

Hmmm. 35k miles on original rubber from Michigan: 3 trips to CT, 2 trips to WI, many trips across the state to Detroit, trip to Sault St Marie. Who needs a spare?
