3.8 Genesis Coupe thinks he can "walk all over us"

Holy s***. I made this thread a few days ago and haven't seen it since, and all of --"this"-- has exploded...
I was finally able to drive a Genesis coupe. When you floor it, you cannot keep your feet off of the floor til about 70, (N/A's don't do that), then it slows down quite a bit where as the Crossfire continues to accelerate. The Genesis coupe also looses traction turning quite a bit sooner than an N/A and the Genesis is longer and much less rigid. I also know that the stock 3.8 tops out just over 160 where as an N/A will do a bit over 170 without its governor. I believe somebody posted 168 with his governor removed and it was not at red-line yet. The weight of the XF's allows them to keep decent acceleration while devoting most of the gearing to top end doing 170 with 215 horse. The SRT-6's do in the mid 180's and V8 conversions are 200mph cars easy immediately upon drop-in. We dont have 1/10th of the aftermarket support that the Genesis does, but we do have something far better. Compatibility with the parts of the mighty AMG Division. When Asia's rice-burners decide to **** with Germany's finest sauerkraut cookers......well lets just look at what German scientists made for Asia to end WorldWar2. Throughout history, rice has never won. (The music from the President's speech in Independence Day starts playing while i talk)

I kind of like the body style of the 3.8 Coupe.
Coincidentally, I raced one yesterday. I pulled up alongside him at a light, and he revved at me. I had my brother in the car with me (150 lbs). We took off at the same time, and I had maybe one car length to 30mph then pulled another 2-3 or so to about 65mph, at which time we shut down (40 mph zone).

The s2000 does though, and theres tons of those making 600rwhp on stock internals.
I owned a 550whp civic si, it would have gladly left you in the dust.
Plus, the crossfire is by no means a fine "german sauerkraut cooker". When I think german performance, this is how I see the order. Porsche, BMW, Mercedes. Because lets face it, Mercedes has never been a huge performance company. Mercedes is about luxury and the aftermarket reflects that. So they sell a few power adders here and there, its about big heavy fat comfort... Want a real german car, buy an M3 or an M5. But get this notion out of your head that because your 19 and own a crossfire that this car is instantly better than everything else out there... because its not
Whats going on down in Hotlanta this week Bro? it's Sunny and 76 with NO humidty Here all Week in the Great Pacific northwest!
I know that You Know Cars, and everything You said in this Thread is indeed true.( well except one thing.) I just wanted to let You Know that Meaningfull discussion can Happen Between disagreeing Parties WITHOUT Name calling.
Your Knowledge base in the Automotive World Is indeed strong However Your Knowledge base in Communicating With other Intelegent Human Beings could Use some fine tuning.
I work with Public figures in all Economic and Social classes And I can Honestly say No matter the Status or Intelegence of a Man, Or woman. The one Missing skill that leads to more disapointment and frustration in life. Is Not Understanding How to change What and how we say things in Diffrent situations.
For instance on the Basketball court I can say things that I could Never say to a coworker at work! At work I can say things to a coworker that I could NEVER say at Home. and at Home I can say things that I could NEVER Print on the Internet.
The thing You were Wrong about? This car is indeed Instantly better than any other car out there! Because It is the car that I Want.
Have a great Evening .

Because, they aren't known for engineering prowess, fit & finissh, or ungodly acceleration.
No, none whatsoever.
My question:
If you knew the Crossfire was such a hopeless, lame duck when you bought it -- why buy it?
Any man who has owned as many phenomenally fast cars as you have, must be cutting himself on the wrists every weekend for driving such a snail... right?
Crossfires suck, yet you've yet to sell yours. Did you lose a bet, or can you not afford to part with it?

true, but this teck9 kid has no factual basis for his comments. Ive been around both cars, modified and stock. The genesis has more power potential due to afterkmarket embracing the car. The published numbers from Hyundai are low as well, the 2.0T's have been consistently pumping out numbers 20-25% higher on the dyno.
The crossfire is the car the aftermarket forgot, sorry guys, but its true. and believe it or not there are better cars out there. lol

Now everyone stop bickering like little girls. This forum is known for being civil and a wealth of knowledge, unlike most forums out there. Let's not turn it into one of those forums.
Like roadsterguy said, we can argue the finer points of these two cars or anything for that matter, but we can do it without resorting to name-calling and attacking others.
Now everyone grab a beer and chill out.
I have a Mazda in my driveway for one reason and one reason only....my wife wanted it.....or there would never be rice sitting there...don't care how much HP they can produce...not interested....I went to look at the Genesis...and it had nice lines and such...but it just reminded me of another copycat jap car...their bikes, I like, their cars, you can have them...hell, now that BMW has caught up with them in the bike catagory, I might lean German there as well...at least it is good discussion....lets leave it there...
I still <3 my japanese cars. You'll never see a ford or chevy product last as long. My 8 year old ranger is about to get doused in gasoline.... my 91 240 is still a beast.
I can say this, I've crushed more domestics than imports... so far 2 fords and 1 dodge.

I love when ppl get so upset over what idiots like me say on the internet. LOL.How can one get through face to face problems and conflicts when the internet upsets them so much, nuff of that. Bottom line potential wise, we can pretty much drop in a 700hp SLR engine. I don't think any ricers make that even after alot of modding. Like it was just said, we're entitled to our opinions and MINE, (NOT EVERYBODY'S), is that ricers suck, even when there well made I, NOT EVERYBODY F-ing hate them. With the exception of Acura. Heres a list of the few that I adore, Honda/Acura NSX and RSX. Honda Del Sol. I mostly just hate Asian cars and the nails in the coffin are when I see most Asian cars being driven by guys like this.

Definitely Crossfire. The 2.0T GC is a bit of a dog unless you mod it, even though on paper it nearly matches CF. CF's V6 has more low-end grunt and feels much more refined overall. But the the 3.8 GC is scary fast! Might be a toss up, but I'm much happier with the Crossfire design.
I always imagined it at a car show 30 years from now when I was designing it.

While I don't hate Asian imports as much as you (honestly, I love Hondas FOR WHAT THEY ARE), I hate people that try to mod them out and make them into something special. They aren't. They're a dime a dozen and just an eye-sore. And most of the guys that drive them are *******.
