Default Finally Saw One on the Road

Up until my trip to Orlando, I had yet to see a Crossfire on the road and not on the dealer lot. I saw a Red one cruisng down 4 and a black one at a Walgreens close to Universal Studios (my destination). Maybe I saw one of yours! Good to see that my city really is behind, and not that no one actually drives their crossfires.

I saw my first one a few days ago, and was so excited at the red light as we faced each other in identical SSB's. I pointed, I waved, but the a-hole driver peeled out, paid no attention to me or my car, and then almost took out some pedestrians crossing the street and nearly rear ended someone. At least had I seen BeenCrossed, I'd have waived!

As far as I know, I own the only Xfire in Chicago a perhaps the only one in Illinois. If I ever should see one I will probably be to dumbfounded to wave. So if you ever pass a black one in Chicago and he fails to wave, it is probably me, and I did wave just not until several minutes later.

i've yet to see another on the road here in the suburbs of baltimore. i see them stacked up on one dealer's lot every morning on my way to work. something like 28 cars and they wanted a purchase order before allowing a test drive. somehow i doubt they'll actually sell more than a handful of them with that policy.

i think the crossfire has an unintended cloaking effect that keeps one crossfire driver from spotting others. as everyone has noticed you tend to be surrounded by other cars and drivers gawking at your car from all directions. well, some of these other vehicles are guaranteed to be blocking our view of other crossfires.

The one I saw must have "decloaked" for a few seconds, because after we waved to each other, he was gone!

:-)

probably decloaked from the front only since the car in front of you was forced to travel through the intersection as the light turned yellow. same thing happened to the guy in the crossfire facing you. it's hard to get decloaked from behind or to the side since most gawkers will simply follow you through the light even if its red. relatively speaking, two crossfires approaching traffic lights at the same time from opposite directions is a rare phenomena.

Wow!!! If that ever happened to me I have no clue how I would react. I think I would probobly react like Uncle_Al and everyone would be gone by the time the reality of what just happened set in.

Naw, my encounter was on I-80 in Ohio with light traffic. We were both heading east. I was going 75, he had to be going 95. Maybe it was a malfunctioning cloaking device! Should we start a thread for this? Or do passing Crossfires auto decloak just for a second just out of courtesy?

4 at one intersection AT THE SAME TIME? So who would have the right of way? Age of the driver? Color of the car? (IMHO the SSB must be given preferential treatment!!! :-) )

I would love to see another crossfire, and from any angle, I've never actually seen one driving along to admire from afar!

Must seem wierd!

had my alabaster autostick since october and it was just 2 mos ago that i finally saw another crossfire actually on the road (i actually didn't see him until he pulled his alabaster one right up along side mine).

it was an ungodly hour of the morning, dark, and we were the only 2 fools in great cars trying to miss the lights on constitution ave in dc. he was so excited, pointing and waiving...that i laugh, make my turn, then realize i'm going up a one-way street in the wrong direction  (was a block off from where i needed to turn).

that distraction was definitely worth it...still makes me smile, but i finally saw another on the road!

I seen one the first week I had mine (an SSB about 3 cars ahead of me in Fredricksburg VA). Of course I was in my wife's Murano.

The only other one I see on the road is this awesome reflection of a white one every time I zip past some shiny monster SUV and look at the reflection.... 8)

We have yet to see another one on the road. But I am very lucky, if I want to see another one, all I have to do is open the garage door. My wife's Graphite is sitting right next to my SSB. I did get to see hers going down the road while I was driving mine, but we have only done this once.

Heading home yesterday morning I merged onto the interstate and thought "when am I gonna see another Crossfire?" Seriously less than 10 seconds later I look to my left and a red X-fire is two lanes over and the driver gives me that surfer thumb/index hang loose thumbsup. I give him a big thumbs up too. He had an American flag under the spoiler.

Unfortunately I was boxed in and couldn't catch up. Thought it would look cool to tail each other for awhile so the commoners could gawk TWICE as much.

Looked good tho!

Yep, they shouldn't allow kids to drive such a nice car. That person sounds like a kid with a ricer mentality (Peeling out) who should be in a Civic with a silly tail and goofy stickers.....yep
