Proud New Owner
Just purchased a 2006 Crossfire Limited from a dealer in Hermitage, PA..Only 24k miles..good deal.
Will be picking her up tomorrow and am extremely excited.
I live in Buffalo, NY and am still debating whether I'll put her through the crappy WNY weather or go for a winter beater and garage her...But I can't imagine putting the Xfire in the garage from November to March...

Welcome to the forum.
I'm relatively new here too, and I also live in the Northeast!!!
So in regards to the winter driving, my opinion is to leave the x-fire in the garage for fear of the poor traction in the bad stuff and the insane amounts of road salt that is used in NY. Also the fact that you live in Upstate NY where snow fall is usually recorded not by the inches of accumulation but in feet it would be wise to have a beater vehicle around just in case.
Now for the good part, I hear that the weather should be nice for the drive home tomorrow, so (excuse my language) drive the **** out of her!!! I did that when I first picked up mine a month ago and have not stopped smiling. It's actually gotten to the point that I drive around sometimes just to drive.
They're great cars and as I found on this forum the people that own them are equally as cool!

First, read the detailing section on the forum (especially Mike-in-Orange suggestions) then take care of your new baby. I guarantee you will fall more in love with her and decide to invest in a winter beater. The XF isn't bad in snow but Buffalo (like my SW Michigan) gets a lot and this car rides low. The large rear tires are not good for traction. Mostly, I would worry about all the morons with bad brakes, bad tires (the NY inspection law is a joke), putting on their make-up or talking on the cell (illegal or not), running INTO you.
Just to set off a controversy...worst drivers: MA, NJ, then NY, with IL a close fourth. Something about living in crowded conditions seems to generate carelessness and road rage. PS-I was raised in CT and went to college in NY and lived there for many years. People in the mid-West generally understand the concept of "merge" is not racing to be first into the gap.

The layout of their roads also don't make sense... which is probably why their drivers are so messed up!
Congratulations, and welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of good information here, and the people are wonderful. I'm from Minnesota, and I have a car I drive during the winter. I do get the Crossfire out at least once a week on dry days, just to keep everything loose. Have fun!
