Default Sell me your front license plate holder!

I just bought a SSB '05 XFire coupe from Michigan which doesn't require the front license plate holder; but Illinois where I live does. So I need to buy one. Can anyone help?

I'm in Illinois also, and didn't want to drill two holes in the front bumper. I installed an Altec flip up plate holder. Do a search on the forum for Alltec holder, and it will give you a linky. Most Chrysler dealers sell OEM front holders for about $22, if that's your choice ......

EDIT: where abouts in Illinois??

Don't drill into your bumper for a OEM plate holder if you can avoid it.

I think Colorado Cruizer has the best one.

Not anymore Doc ..... and no, installed properly it doesn't rattle. The only thing that could be a concern is that it sits about 3/4 inch below the bumper, and makes parking into a curb, or into a parking bumper a little more risky.

Join us in a GTG on August 14th at a Customizer and Body shop tour in Island Lake and lunch at Popeyes in Lake Geneva. Look for the thread "Found a Great Place for Body Work and will Welcome a Tour" (sorry don't know how to do a linky). You'll meet about 8 to 10 other xFire owners in our area, and get to caravan with us to Lake Geneva (@35 miles or so).

Thumbs up Re: Sell me your front license plate holder!

You may be in luck. I believe I have the one that came with my 2006 wrapped in the original plastic bag. Will hunt for it tomorrow.

Thanks everyone, you convinced me to go with the folding holder (Altech).
IBLUBYU The Aug. 14 ride sounds good, Island Lake is minutes from me. I tried to search for the event but no luck; do you have place & time?

Steve

I will look around on my shelves....I have the original in the wrapper some where....But I personally would go with the electric not the manual foldup.
If I find it I will bring it on the 14th

Steve ... make it to the meet, and you'll see both types of the Altec .... manual and motorized ...

You can do what I just do and put it in your windshield hahaha I did this in my Mercedes and am currently doing it in my XF never been pulled over. I don't think they even look for license plates anymore.

I average 4 times a year being pulled for the plate...once yesterday in a town over from me.
No ticket just told me to keep it deployed instead of retracted.

Opposite problem. I bought my SRT6 and roadster in Chicago and imported them to Michigan. Cost me $200 to have the SRT6 bumper holes fixed. Fortunately they never drilled out the roadster. I have two plastic front plates mounts in a bag in the basement. Do not ever intend to use them but keeping to go with the OEM cars my kids will sell when I am dead.

Hi All,

I live in Mexico, border with south Texas and I own a Crossfire, I believe is my first post but I've been reading a lot of threads.
Anyway, regarding the front license plate holder, anyone has it as spare that can sell it to me? I need it in my region :/

I appreciate your help.

Thanks
