Talking New Crossfire owner

Hello,
I just within the last month bought a black '05 crossfire coupe 6spd manual, and I've got a few questions. All of the other cars I've seen have fog lights, and for some reason mine does not. The place is there for them, but they're capped. Anyone know how/where I can look into aquiring and installing them? Also, my spoiler does not always raise on its own when I pass 7mph. Would this be a wiring fault? Or the motor? It makes a sound once and a while like it is popping itself out from being stuck.
Thanks guys, I'll be back again asking more questions because I love this car!

Can't answer you about the wing, but if you have cloth seats and no fog lights, you probably have a base coupe ........ other then that enjoy the permagrin and welcome to the forum .. Remember this. .. BLACK RULES ..... don't let anyone sing you the BLUES

I'm not sure what the seats were originally. I have racing buckets, carbon fiber/leather, right now. The previous owner re did the seats, headliner, completely re did the exhaust ( it sounds beautiful), and the suspension ( super stiff and low, for racing i'm assuming, love the way it handles). Thank you tho! =) And of course Black Rules..I completely detaied it with Turtle Wax Black Box.... Never seen a better looking black car.

P.s. If I wanted to install fogs, where would I go to find the right shape and size? Or do you know the specs?

Hmmm!! Interesting ... do you have the oem radio? Does it have black *****? If it does, that's another clue if it started as a base. What is your Vin #?

EDIT: fog lites become available on eBay occasionally

Forgive my ignorance, OEM radio? But yes, the ***** are black. My VIN is 1C3AN5995X030682. If it is the base model, have any idea how I might be able to see if the previous owner did anything to the engine. Seeing as how it looks like it is set up for racing, there might be a chance he did. Or am I on my own and I just need to go out and tear up some asphault?

I'm sure someone will confirm "base" from your Vin #. Be that as it may, your car may have engine mods already on it. It may have had an LET tune, new CAIs, etc.!
Check on the forum on peoples galleries that have N/A cars, and see what looks diff.
Also, watch for local GTGs and meet some other xFires and owners and have them check out your engine. Lots of Knowledgeable people here. You can always take it to a "drag" strip and run it out. Just be careful and drive safe! Our cars tend to be police magnets....... Good Luck!

Where do I look for local GTG's? I'm kinda new to this whole forum idea. I'll check out what I can. Thank you for your help.

I could sit here and describe all the unique features that seperate the base from the limited.... we could run vin numbers but why bother when I already know it is a base coupe!

Apparently the big give away is it being all black on the outside. No silver details. So yeah its a base model. Although I think I like the all black better, the silver around the windsheild just doesnt do it for me.

Check the forum index for regional "get togthers". You'll see listings for various regions, and states within regions in some cases. Then there are annual events like Tail of the Dragon and Woodward Cruise. Check out the detailing section. Lots and lots of good info for the new owner.

And, there is no cure.

Being a Crossie is a mental disorder. Welcome to our support group.

Yes, you have a base but the differences are cosmetic.

Crossies have no class. That didn't sound right but it is nonetheless true. There are no levels of pecking order here. We are all equally nuts.

Welcome and ,,,,,,,,,enjoy

Is this a typo? As mine comes up around 60mph and that is the normal speed for deployment of the spoiler.

I would assume it is....ditto on the 60mph for deployment, or, a switch to keep it up....now that's what I need, but that is another story that no one wants to here...lol Welcome aboard...

Ditto on the 60 spoiler deployment. Comes up passing 60, stays up until speed is reduced to 40 mph. Coupe is definately a base coupe. However, as others have said, we have no class (differentiation) as owners. I'm a new owner and participant as well. Everyone on the forum has been helpful answering questions and providing guidance. Also, lot's of great stuff on here so check out the threads and click on the forum in the right upper corner. Great stuff on accessories, repairs, equipment (like tires) etc.

Enjoy the ride.

There is a small class distinction because Black is best. We don't talk it about it much as it tends to make the lesser colors feel inferior. They are still good folks but can be slightly delusional.

I recently had to do some PM on my wing. It was squeaking on deployment and occasionally seemed to balk when it started. It needed some alignment and grease. Had my mechanic do it as you have to remove some trim to get at it.

Well, I guess the distinction is blind to us others who own cars of color. Although, since you all drive in the dark (read that as black cars), I think the true distinction is those of us of with "colored cars" accept your kind despite your delusions

Enjoy the ride!

It must be a state of mind.

Black is the fastest. ... but it could never be the best color, as black is not a color.

Made corrections to original submission. Should be accurate now -- differentiating cars "of color" and black cars (not a color).
