Default My other car

Sorry to leave the topic, but my other car just got painted and I had to show off the mirror finish somewhere where people appreciate cars.

Absolutly beautiful finish! Is that a Tiger we are looking at? I wanted one of thoes cars too much. Must be pretty rare now. I saw a red one that was a complete restoration at the Euro Auto Fest in Greenville SC last year.

What does a complete great paint job cost?

Yup, it's a Tiger. One of three originally built in black w/red interior. Show paint is $8-10k and up. I didn't pay that much becuase the guy on the left in the hood reflection is a friend and professional who was teaching me, and I did a lot of the sanding and even some of the shooting. 2-5 guide coats of primer on each panel followed by primer and base coat in white (both wet sanded), three coats of European black, wet sanded or buffed, and finished off with two coats of clear. Car is being restored to original specs w/ only differences being show paint and show chrome. Has some pretty rare original options too--second three scoop fiberglass hood, pie mag wheels, traction bars, racing shocks, posi. Malibu car stored eighteen years with 62k when I got it.

Any shots of the hood?
The car really looks great, are you going to drive it when it's completed, or just show it?

Here's a before pic with the three scoop hood. It's known as a LAT hood--a factory authorized program for U.S. dealer options. LAT stands for Los Angeles Tiger. Also you can see the mag wheels. Supposedly less than 100 original hoods still in existence and < 10 sets of the mags. Thanks so much for the interest. Also attached is a more global pic of the car in progress. That's not me in pic.
