OK, it's time to get to work on the 2011 Member's Choice Crossfire Calendar!
Sorry, we're running a little behind schedule this year. So we're ramping up the schedule a little bit.
What is it?
It's a 12 month, 2011 wall calendar made up of photos of member's Crossfires.
Who takes the photos?
You do! The calendar is made up of photos submitted by members of this forum.
Who chooses the cars in the calendar?
You do! After the photos are submitted, I will post them in my gallery. They everyone can rate them. The twelve with the highest ratings will be in the calendar.
How do I submit a photo?
Email your photos to crossfirecalendar@yahoo.com. Be sure to state in your message that you own the photo and that you give permission for it to be used in the calendar. Also include your CrossfireForum ID and your real name. Tell us where the photo was taken too.
How long will you take photos?
Photos will be accepted until midnight October 24, 2010. Photos submitted afterwards will be deleted.
How do I rate the photos?
They will be posted in my gallery.
https://www.crossfireforum.org/galle...y.php/cat/1901
Below the photo, you’ll see a Rating line where you can rate each photo. The higher the rating, the more you like it.
How long will the rating go on?
I’ll leave the photos up for rating from October 25th, through midnight on October 31, 2010.
What makes a good calendar photo?
Obviously, the photo MUST include a Crossfire!
You must own the rights to the photo in order to submit it.
The photo must be AT LEAST 2,000 by 2,000 pixels. (That’s 4 megapixel.)
8 Megapixel is even better. The higher the resolution the better!!
Be sure to leave some room around the Crossfire in the photo. This allows for cropping the image and for bleed at the edges of the calendar pages.
Great locations make for excellent backdrops, which make excellent calendar photos.
(Photos that don't meet these criteria, will be deleted.)
What happens after the photos are rated?
After Oct 31st, I will post the winners here. Then I’ll begin making the calendars. In a week or two, the calendars will be made available for purchase from a web site. Previously I used CafePress.com. I may try a new vendor this year.
Who determines the price of the calendar?
The web site sets the prices. I don’t charge anything above the cost of the web site. This is a non-profit exercise. However, the web site that makes and sells the calendars will make money, but I don’t get any of it, and neither does the forum.
If you have more questions, just ask.
Now go take some great photos of your Crossfire and submit them!!

A little more info:
I will do two calendars, maybe more, but I doubt it. The Member's Choice Calendar will be made up of the highest rated images. It will be an 8 1/2" by 11" calendar. Then from the array of images, I'll pick highly rated HIGH resolution images for the 11" by 17" calendar.
The 8 1/2 by 11 calendar will be $14.99.
The 11 by 17 calendar will be $18.99.

Keep them coming folks.
I tried to head up into the Catskills this past weekend with the colors finally starting to change...then my alternator pooped out. Man what a headache that is turning out to be. Maybe I can make it up soon.
Either way, can't wait to see the final result.

Submitted photos .....
OK, the clock is tick-tick-ticking and we're down to the wire. All your submissions should be in. If I haven't emailed you back, then I didn't get your submission.
I probably won't have a chance to upload the last sets of photos until I get home from work tomorrow (Monday Oct 25). So if you can get your final submissions in by 4pm eastern standard time, I'll still consider them.

Go to Tom's gallery pics, then choose the sub-cat "Calendar Contest". When you see a photo you want to vote for, click on it, and below the photo will be a voting bar. Hope this helps.

OK, folks the ratings are in!
Below you can find the official ratings listed in the two PDF files. They are sorted from highest to lowest.
Now, before anyone starts asking questions, let me explain a couple things:
I am limiting any winners to one winning photo of their car in the calendar (unless their car is included in a group shot that also won, or unless the shot is of their second Crossfire). That way one person's car will not dominate the calendar. It's a kind of "share the love" approach.
What this means is that the first twelve images in the ratings are not necessarily the ones that will be in the calendar. Also, if for some reason, the format of your image won't work in the calendar, I will take the next highest rated image in its place. Why might an image not work for the calendar? I could be too closely cropped, or not be the correct aspect ratio for an 8.5" by 11" calendar. Regardless, I will do my best to make the highest rated images work.
The cover will be an image of my personal choice, and not one of the winning twelve.
I will also make a second calendar (and maybe a third, depending on my time and the available images). The second calendar will be taken from the very high resolution images submitted, and will be 11" by 17". I won't repeat any of the winning twelve images, but the winner's cars may appear in both calendars.
If you image is in the top 12, and you have a preference for a month, please PM me a.s.a.p. I will try to put your car in the month you ask. First come, first serve.
I should have the calendars available for purchase in about a week / week and a half. The delivery time on them is pretty short, so you will definitely have them in time for Christmas and/or the new year.

Those listed in bold will be in the Member's Choice Calendar.
CONGRATS to all the winners! It was some stiff competition, and the calendar is getting some great photos this year. I have to say that you guys have really raised the bar for the quality of the images.
And some of you guys could make your own calendars just of your own car!! (Alzilla, Valk, 94 Bravada, etc.)
Of course, there will be A SECOND calendar as well as the Member's Choice calendar. The second one will be made up of many of the images listed above that were left out of the first calendar in order not to show the same person's car many times. I will also include images that I just think are calendar worthy.
So call it the Tom's Choice calendar.
Regardless what you call it, there won't be any duplication of images between the calendars, so you can buy both - one for home and one for work!!
