My 04 coupe came with jumper cables in that spot but not my 05, so I kept the cables for the 05 (still in sealed bag) not sure if they came from the factory or not though.
Isn't there a reflective triangle dealeo thats highly sought after? Perhaps thats its place. I keep fix a flat, rags emergency flashers etc there and now jumper cables sounds like a good place.
As for the sticker, its a ticket to ***** Karmann's factory

I found a sticker like this under my drivers seat, when I first bought my car. It was loose and just laying on the floor area, under the seat. I figured it had become unattached from the seat bottom somewhere.
As far as the empty hole .... it is for a 1st aid kit/emergency kit for European market. I use it for a tire plug kit, and tool storage.....

Hmmm... Let's call it the unnamed, multipurpose covert storage unit.
Sounds like they had something planned for that space but never actually did anything with it if it isn't for an emergency kit or anything.
Now I'm curious about what is in mine, I can't say that I've ever actually looked, haha.

The emergency triangle would fit into an area on the trunk lid itself on most Benz's...the empty space is for the OEM Mercedes Benz first aid kit.

As for the hole, I keep a bottle of Quick Detailer in it, with a microfiber towel.
The sticker is simply a production sticker from a supplier of interior components, you can ignore it.
Lot's of previous discussion about the hole. Concensus was that Mercedes puts a first aid kit in there, but no facts to back that up. It's just a handy storage bin for whatever you want. I use mine to smuggle a bottle of booze through customs at the Canadian border. It's also a good place to keep that bottle in case of the inevitable break-down, so you have something to do while waiting for help.
That is actually where I hide my hand gun (either my .38 or 357).
It is legal to carry in the car but I prefer to keep it hidden. Plus if someone brakes in to my car they won't find it.

we had a similar discussion like a few years back, but can't find it right now....it's great place for just about anything you want to hide....some might even transport their handgun in there...but, from the old discussion, the first aid kit seemed to win out...with the triangle finishing a tight second...lol....

bmorgan, don't laugh, but, back in the late 50s I bought a 40 Chevy Coupe that had a 53 Olds V-8 and complete Olds drivetrain in it. Just before handing over the $300 for it I opened the turnk to check the spare, which wasn't there. But, there was two large blocks of wood with curved notches carved in them and bolted to the frame.
I asked the guy what those were for, he looked sheepishly at me and said "well this car is from Revenna Kentucky and its just kind of a well known car there" It still hadn't dawned on my what he was talking about until he popped open some samples. Then all became clear.
As I handed over the money, thinking perhaps I should give more, he looked down at the money in his hand and said "son, just don't drive this car in Eastern Kentucky."
