Default Panamera spoiler

i think something like this would look sick on the Xfire, and by that i mean
the way it extendes to the sides, not the actual model airplane looking spoiler.

It is pretty cool, but the real question is how much downforce does it actually provide. I try to only buy things or want things that are practical.

I agree. That's why I just invested $280 for 1 set of 2006 SRT6 emblems for the sides.

That is the only cool thing about that horribly ugly car. Somebody on this forum needs to retrofit that to our cars.

Why fit a Porsche spoiler to a XF? The problem has been solved -- it's called an SRT6.

I saw a Panamera buzzing down the autobahn in Germany last year and I dont recall seeing a spoiler on it of any kind..... I thought the car looked pretty nice..... I also think the SRT6 spoiler is better looking than the one posted above....

Mike I agree with you on both points. Don't recall the exact numbers that the Panamera put up but I remember they were impressive for a four passenger auto.

I've seen several Panamera's around Dallas and they do look nice. The spoiler is only available on the Turbo model which begs to question if it really has a function for the aerodynamics of the car?

All panameras are equipped with a deployable wing. Only the Turbo and other uplevel trims get the "split" deploying wing.

S40 thanks for the link. Interesting reading. The twin turbos #s of 0 to 60 in 4 sec. flat and 0 to 100 in 9 sec. flat are true super car stats. They say the 133k price tag is worth every penny.

Doc as you know one GOOD hp can be pretty impressive. 0 to top speed of 30+ in two to three strides is sick quick. For your mods go to Parelli.com. My daughter Jaime has been working this system with her horses for 5years and the results are amazing.Giddyup!

One side of my family are diehard Porsche fans. I was invited to Annapolis Porsche's Panamera launch party 2 years ago. Not the prettiest piece in the world but the stats and the sound (esp. the Turbo) are awe inspiring. As said, true supercar with room for 4 and their junk.

i don't care for the panamera's styling (bob cumberford agrees), but porsche is an engineering company at the end of the day. when styling and engineering are on the same page (in the big scheme of things, rarely) it's an instant classic. the panamera's forte is engineering.

is there any actual proof that a spoiler on the back of our cars do anything beneficial? I think this whole spoiler craze is ridiculous. I would much racher keep the auto spoiler on my car over a stationary spoiler any day. I would never add any kind of spoiler to a car that never had one. Just my thoughts. To each their own I guess.

Actually there is, in the factory Crossfire manuals (not the owners manual) it states that fully deployed wing will exert 40 lbs. of down force at 80 MPH. While that doesn't sound like much, it should be just about right to stabilize the read of the car and add just enough pressure on the tires to keep good contact with the road. I'm sure the same holds true with the Panamera wing.

That wing looks like a typically well-engineered piece of Mercedes handy work and a fairly expensive piece to employee on a vehicle. Somehow, I don’t think they went to that much effort for marketing’s sake. But, then one would wonder why the SRT needs a large permanent wing, or the monster wing on that 911?
