Hey guys.
Quick question.
What does the S and W stand for?
Ive read it stands for Standard and Wet mode?
Is this true?

Stud/wimp. LOL........ Winter/Summer. W mode will start you in 2nd gear.

while on this subject (switch not gun), someone told me you have to put the switch in the mode you want before starting the car. it's not a switch on the fly. if you are on S and it's a little icy, you have to turn the car off, switch to W, then start the engine. anyone heard this??

btw, s&w is a great company. best bang for the buck - pun intented...

Why would you not be able to press it any time? You can change gear anytime you want.
What does your manual say?

"S" stands for "Standard" not "Summer".
"W" stands for "Winter/Wet", snow and ice.
