Mike R did a write up on fixing his.....just punch in (search feature) Mike R valve cover leak and it should be right at the top....

I'm about to do this as well. Should you wait a little bit for the RTV to get tacky before replacing on the valve cover? I've read this creates a better seal opposed to putting the cover back on immediately after applying the RTV.
Thoughts?

They are made of aluminum and meant to be torqued only once. Mercedes part number 000000-004436. You need 5 @ $1.40 each. I bought the Mercedes Sealant part number 003-989-98-20-10, but at $19.50 for the tube, I would buy the Ultra Black from Advance Auto if doing again.
