Default New, looking for a Xfire.

I am new to the forum, trying to learn as much as possible before making a purchase. I am hoping to find a low milage xfire with an automatic, coupe, white, silver, or gray. I was hoping to find something local, but the prices seem high to what I've read here.
What would you pay for a 2007 coupe with 10k? (CarMax here has it for $18998). Any help finding a good coupe would be much appreciated.

Houston, TX

I like the roadster but I have to have a coupe. I've owned convertibles in the past and I dont like the added road noise, leaks, and easy of breaking in. If they would have made it with a retractable hardtop like the SLK I would be game. If anyone here in Texas is selling a coupe auto, with white, silver or gray with lower miles...thats what I am looking for. I am also interested in feedback on that 2007 coupe car fax has for 18995, seems high to me. I would think 17500 would be more realistic for a 2007.

There is no 2007. made before that. Crossfires are few in number and getting fewer. the high quality ones are going away. age and mileage. And most owners wont sell. buy now while you can. gary

Welcome and good luck with your search. I believe silver was a rare 2007 color and looks great while Saphire Silver Blue is much easy to find. You can save money by looking at other years. There isn't any real difference in the cars from year to year. 2004 had every option 2005 in on came in base and limited. For the price of the 2007 you are looking, you could get a SRT which was almost exclusively 2005. In the long run the SRT will always be worth more than a normally aspirated Crossfire. In gerneral these cars are very well built and reliable. With a Crossfire you are basically getting a great deal on re-badged Mercedes. Besides the badges and VIN number, you won't find anything Chrysler on these cars.

I paid $15,500 for an 07 Coupe Limited w/ 4,500 miles on it on New Years Eve. Outstanding deal and more can be found if you search hard.

And seriously, don't buy from a dealer. I bought mine from the original owner and the guy was one of the most down to earth people I've ever met. Enjoyable experience in every aspect.

Was silver really rare for 07s? That's what mine is.

'07's are rare in general and I have only seen one silver Crossfire ever. The most rare Crossfire is probably the 2006 SRT.

I paid $16.7 for a 2007 machine gray coupe, stick with 8500 miles two years ago. I had a line on an exec-owned 2007 silver roadster with stick, but my son wanted a coupe.

DNIVEK,

How soon do you want a new coupe? I have an Manual 2004 Alabaster with 62K, good condition, clean title, that I would like to sell come July. I do not want to use this as a trade-in vehicle as that would screw me (the seller) and you (the customer). I'm looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of $9500.

I'm in Albuquerque, NM but had CarMax transport the car here from San Antonio in March 2010. Nothing wrong with the car, it's just that I got a good new job and want to move up to a Camaro soon. PM me if you're interested.

You wouldn't happen to own a Delorean would you?

Just realized you do We have spoken before. I would love to sell you my car but it is now what you are looking for. Good luck with your search. You are more likely to find what you want locally in Houston. Just be patient and one will come along. And when you get one stick around this forum.

Purchased and brought home my Crossfire LTD today.
Any suggestions on things that should be updated or checked out? One previous owner, Texas, 36,000 miles. Silver, with Gray interior.

I wanted the coupe too. actually needed the coupe as sometimes i transport two larger dogs. LOL! Welcome, and have fun!!!! Price though. Man we all want to know where are cars are going with this aspect, and we ain't shy about it either. It's the rules to tell.

Just curio what you think about your new car? Are you impressed by the performance? What are the things you love and hate about the car?

I've only had a chance to drive it 20 miles home last night, but the performance seems pretty good. I am not impressed with the cup holder or the cheap feel of the interior door handles. I would also like to get a nicer looking automatic shift ****, something that feels of a bit more quality. The car seemed very quick on acceleration and braking was really smooth. Its only in the 20's here right now, but as soon as it warms up later today I'll be back out driving.

The cup holder is the #1 complaint. The base coupes come with a storage bin and many limited owners did the conversion. That may be something for you to consider.

I was never a fan of the interior door handles. The back of the handle on some cars came apart and caused some people to cut themselves. As for the shift ****, I have a stick so I can't speak for the automatic. Some complain about it but I really like the feel of it. Many have replaced their ***** and that is a very easy thing for you to do.

Drive it more and let us know what you think. As time goes on I think you will learn to love the car. Hang around the forum and read about it... you will learn a lot. I had my car over 5 years and I am still learning about some of the features that I never knew about. For example... the secret hiding place in the ash tray. Had no idea there was a place for quarters in there!

Get that car on I-10 in the country and open it up. Do 100+ MPH then let me know what you think.

Haha! I feel so special!

Dnivek, I'm curious how you thought the car was quick because I feel like mine is pretty slow off the line. It was hard for me to get used to the gas pedal on mine since it's way more spongey than any other car I've driven. The only car that I felt had a similar gas pedal was my dad's VW Jetta TDI.

Edit: Now that I'm researching a spongey pedal, I'm freaking out that my TPS is messing up. Throttle Reset, here I come...
