Default Summer Is Here............

It's official!!!

Summer has "finally" arrived in Phoenix!!! We're having our first 100 day of the year today. Right now it's 101 with 7% humidity. The coyotes, rattle snakes and scorpions are all roaming the streets... great!!! The screaming kids stay indoors or at the mall till the end of October!!! Summer in the desert southwest, it doesn't get much better!!!

I love the AZ weather !!!! I was there in 86 and 87. I lived in Phoenix and before that was Mesa. I loved it there but moved back south to be close to my parents. I wish I was there (or could borrow their weather) "Some like it hot and that would be me". 8)

here you are whooping it up, but I thought you were trying to discourage the snowbirds :?: :!: :?:

Well... I lived in Tempe (S. LaRosa Drive) years ago, remember foundly swimming in unheated pool in January. Okay...so it was a BIT chilly... but at least it wasn't frozen over.. 8)

It is a dry heat. Like the inside of an oven.

Are the scorpions really that big of a deal. I mean they can kill you but they can't eat you. Or can they?

The local weatherman said that some of your AZ heat will be in our area in a few days......

Or is it because John Kerry is in town today and the hot air will change the weather patterns? (sorry - could not resist!)

But you can keep the tumbleweed and the scorpions!!!!

Uncle Al, did you hear about the two Arizona scorpions that were in this fellow's house. One dragged him outside and the other said "Let's take him back to our den." The first scorpion said, "Nah, if we do that, the big scorpions will take him away from us."

There was a news story this morning (yes, here in VA) about how it's "scorpion season" in AZ, and in there entire state there are only 100 doses of anti-venom. They are trying to buy more from somewhere in Mexico, but safety tests haven't been completed so they can't cross the border yet.

Don't worry 'bout the big ones Al, they might drag ya 'round a bit but are otherwise harmless. It's the little tiny buggers that you can hardly see that'll kill ya deader than shxt with one strike :!:  :!:

As the days get closer for the Left Coast Hook Up I'm getting a saddened heart. I wanted to go so badly, but instaed I'll be in Mesa for an ASU graduation. It will be nice and HOT!!! I'll think of you meandering up the coast. By the way summer hit in SoCal this week. Getting me ready for Mesa. You folks have a fabulous trip. Next time all of us will have to come your way. Sedona would be fun!!
