Another new owner
Hi Everyone-
Sorry for yet another new owner thread... But, I just bought a 2004 Crossfire (few pics attached), with just over 10K miles. It's been garaged by an older guy since he bought it new, and he clearly never drove it. So, on to my question: seeing as I live in the northeast, I have at least a month before I get this out on the road. Even though its in like-new shape, do you have any suggestions on maintenance beyond the typical Mobil1/Air Filter/Etc? I'm still not sure if this is going to be a one-summer toy, or something to hold on to longer, but, I'd like to have at least a little piece of mind on some long highway trips.
Also- is it possible to get a Chrysler Maxcare warranty if I'm not the original owner/didn't buy it from a Chrysler Dealership? If I decide to hold on to this for a while, I definitely plan on getting it (unless anyone recommends against it).
Beyond that- before I get it on the road, I'm planning on throwing on at least a Magnaflow muffler (keeping stock tips), and looking at getting some new some OZ Superturismo's (stock size) to dress it up. I'll update with pictures as things get finished.
Any advice is appreciated. Looking forward to getting this out on the road.

This is THE most addictive car I've owned (and I've owned a few). So if you can drive that red beauty for one summer and not feel like keeping it, then you weren't Crossfire "material" to begin with.

Seriously, it's a very engaging car, not perfect by any means. But it certainly has a way of capturing a persons attention.
Welcome to the forum.
I just noticed that you've been "lurking" for over 3 years now....Boy do you have will power.lol

Definitely not a one summer car.
Bought mine almost a year ago and it has been in storage since Nov 1st. I am as excited about the arrival of spring this year as I was last year.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THAT RED BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ditto, you will be pleasantly surprised by this car. Once we drove one, we were hooked. I get the chance to sneak it out of the shop at night every now and then and don't want to go back and park it. How to explain that one to the wife?
Your plans for "personalization" would indicate you really do plan to keep it more than one summer...after you drive it, I can almost guarantee a long time relationship. Relationship is the best way I can describe the emotion most of us feel for these little ******* beauties. Once you adopt one, you won't want to let go. They may go unloved by their" birth parents", but we adoptive parents truly love them.

Congrats on the purchase of the beautiful Crossfire coupe. My bet is for a long relationship. Get involved with some GTGs and other functions and you will double the enjoyment.
I was lurking for awhile when I was deciding on the Crossfire and even though it's given me some minor fits, I do not regret getting it at all. Looking forward to some long Spring cruising.
My Magnaflow catback just arrived and I'm dying to get it installed.

Welcome to both XFire Ownership & The Forum!! Great support to be found on this website. Every one of us have become bonafide XFire enthusiasts and get enormous amounts of pleasure (we call it 'permagrin') from driving our cars. You'll find those that modify for cosmetic aspects only and then there are those who modify to achieve significant performance improvements. Some do both; some keep these beauties stock. But all of us love getting together and having folks stare at our cars as we travel various locales.
You're gonna love this car!!!

Welcome you will love it. Superb color. As you say it may stay for posterity. Before you mod think that through especially if it is going to be a long keeper.
S40guy love the line. Only thing I would add is that the Crossfire is my drug of choice.

Appreciate all the replies everyone. I'm definitely looking forward to getting it on the road.
Autumnmass- my buddy owns a used car dealer and I got it for a 'few' hundred over his cost (trade in from an older guy)- and I paid 11,5. I checked dealer-only auctions recent sales before buying this, and it looks like most 04's in good shape in the the northeast are selling for right around 10,5-11k with 25-35k miles; I couldn't find anything with comparably low miles sold recently for reference.
