My 04 xfire was just towed away to the transmission shop. It's been disengaging then re engaging after a hesitation and last night it went into limp mode. It did leak some fluid. Any hope this is just that connector replacement and a fluid refill or does that kind of luck just not happen? Any thing major and I'll have to be parting with this beautiful car.

 

It sounds like you have the leaky connector plug problem. If it is leaking and the fluid is low you'll have all the symptoms you described.
