New guy here
Hi all.I am going to buy Gene's 05 crossfire That is for sale here.My wife is going to fly down and drive back to Nebraska. Gene told me today that there is no spare. Is there anything else I need to know before she starts heading north ?Gene is a little concerned about her driving it back but she had a contoure SVT 220 HP and I built this jeep for her. I just wont let her near the Platte river with the crossfire like the jeep is in.Seriously what else do we need to be aware of ? Thanks
Pat

Buying from a forum member is a better than good deal. I understand your concerns and would say the AAA platinum plan is a good investment...its the one that allows for longer towing.
just have her get use to the blind spots. The car is german so its made quite well.
Keep in touch and we'll be glad to help if something comes up, the lights always on here
BTW, they sink pretty fast

Hope to learn from this forum.

the blind spots aren't too bad on the highway, but they do suck in parking lots and close places. id say put a bra on it for highway trips because i drove a ton up and down i-75, i-24 and my front end has a lot of tiny chips in it.
can't think of too much else. man i miss long trips. roll the windows down and blast some psy-trance!

The Crossfire is a very safe car. Your wife is going to love the drive, the Crossfire is a real road warrior. I worried about a fllat on the road at first too but after 60k on the coupe and 57k on the roadster I hardly ever think about it now. Keep good tiires on it, a repair kit , AAA and a cell phone. Congrats and welcome to the forum.
Tell her to watch her speed. These things are stable and it's easy to get going fast and not know it. The cruise works great for long stretches.
Oh, and one last thing..........these cars attract attention so be prepared.
Enjoy the ride.

Pat,
Congratulations, you'll love it! If you ever get a chance to drive it. I finally convinced my wife, and found an 05 roadster we both liked. I did not realize the forum was available for cars for sale.
I have only one eye, but have no problem with blind spots (at least not related to the car). I am hesitant to drive like I'd like, and have to be careful. A couple of days ago, I shifted into sixth by ear, and saw I shifted at 80! By feel, it could have been 40 just as easily.
Oh, if the weather allows top-down, be sure to follow instructions in the owner's manual. Be sure she knows to use premium fuel.
Enjoy!
