Default tailight mod complete!

Hey guys,

Lately ive been getting pulled over a lot, but its only for my taillight tint, now keep in mind that they are only 35% which is not dark and you can see the light shine through no problem (or at least i can) and i still wanted to keep the tinted taillight look.

anyway... i saw a newer nissan altima coupe and it had LED taillights and i though damn that would look sharp on a crossfire!

so i went to autozone and picked up red LED light strips, they came with (2) 15in led strips with the LEDs mounted on the side of the adhesive tape/wire stuff, so i took out my taillights and spliced them into my taillight wires and then tucked them neatly into the space between the taillight and the body panel and you can not see them one bit when they are off (no wires, stripping or adhesive) but when I turned on the taillights, WOW! they were incredibly bright

total cost : $21.68 after sales tax and i installed them in literally 10 minutes!

tell me what you think, i know the pic isnt the best but you get the idea, i had to take pic on my phone

green ghost,
the adhesive is actually very strong and the strips are somewhat thick so they are in a way "pinched" between the lens and the body panel, i think they will stay put but there's only one way to find out!

I put these on my motorcycle mirrors so that when the turn signal is on everybody sees it flashing bright red even in the daylight. Works like a charm. As soon as they go on I see cars backing off. We're very civil here. LOL! Mounted them on the inside of the mirror cavity and they're clear when off, can hardly notice them.. Now I'm tossing around ideas where they go on the Cross. Looks really good!!!! I was thinking of mounting some in white behind the grill for that look

I like the idea that you put the LED lights in back after tinting the other ones. I'm not a big fan of tinted lights at all. At night they are mostly still visible, it's during the daytime that the real problems occur which is they can't be seen well in the bright sun light. Also during times of fog they are not as visible. Yours with the adding of the LED's seems to have solved that problem well. Good Luck!

ve wondered if you could put these strips behind the side mirror glass so at night when you turn on the blinker they would cause the void behind the mirror to glow. Might be to bright if you used the whole strip though

im sure it shouldnt be too hard to do, even if you wanted to put just 3 inch strip of LED's there,

even if it is bright im sure it wouldnt be unbearable for the minute or so max the blinker is on..
