Default Hood liner engine compartment

Has any one had a problem with their hood liner in engine compartment seperating, so it touches the engine?
Is anyone running their cars without hood liner, specifically a SRT6 no offence I think the engine compartment may run hotter?

I haven't run a hood liner for 2 years.
As someone that shows his SRT, the stock hoodliners are impossible to get looking actually good. I had plans for a differnt material but it just hasn't materialized. Forgive the punn.
The hood doesn't really get very hot at all and I think it helps to cool the overall engine compartment.

No offense taken, I have noticed the engine liner on my lowly na sags and touches the engine cover.
The rear clip was not bent up enough and so the rear was really bad and started to mark the cover. I bent all the clips to lift the liner while I was at it.
I used double sided tape as well which I pushed through a small slit I cut, but that did not work.

I replaced my 2005 with a OEM pad. The problem with the other listed at least for me was that I had to remove the hood and being by myself that was not possible nor not something I really wanted to do. New OEM pads seems to be working great.

I removed my hood liner then cut away the anchor tabs. Then took the hood to a 4X4 shop to be sprayed underneath with hot melt truck bed liner. Didn't think to request a light spray dusting. Damn! They sprayed it a 1/4 thick, weighing an extra 50 pounds. Wasn't sure if the engine heat would remelt the truck bed liner, but it's been well over a year and still looks awesome! Squirrel Crusher

Are you saying there is a foam like liner under the hood? I opened my hood a million times and I don't recall seeing one.

That explains why I don't have one

I thought those hood liners were something that stopped after the 70's.

It's very easy to clean up. Strengths the hood also. Great sound proffer. Spray in truck bed liner's will loose there shine over a period of time in direct sunlight. The sun's rays doesn't ever shine under my hood so it's still shinney. The spray in truck liner for my Squirrel Crushing 4X4 Turbo Dually has a skylighted cover over the bed and it still shines after 14 years. I even had my cab's flooring sprayed light grey. Most will tell you colors aren't offered. They just don't want to clean their equipment. I witnessed a sales promotion for LineX. Two empty thin aluminium beer cans. One beer can sprayed with hot melt bed liner. I have a really good hand grip. Easily crushed the unsprayed beer can with one hand. Couldn't crush or even bend the sprayed can with one hand. Got this from never-Satisfied, theyre on ebay too for 79 bucks. didnt take my hood off to install it but needed an extra set of hands. The hood looked good without one but these are so clean and conform well to the hood.

Plus, chicks dig em
