Default Tires - blew one.

Hit something I never saw in a travel lane (like a brick probably) and pinched my front driver's side front tire sidewall. Have a used tire on there as a temp (no Contitourings in Las Vegas--have to order). Car has 20k, and it actually looks like there's about 60% left on the remaining tires. I never intended to replace with Contitourings.

Question:

Do I order a $260 Contitouring and replace the front right only; or
Do I replace all four with W rated tires that I like and can knock down for $150 each.

Sucks to trash three tires with half thier life left. Also sucks to buy a new tire at the expense noted and only use it 1/2 way. Opinions or other suggestions?

Thanks.

You won't be happy unless you get the "w" rated tires. Try and get road hazard with the new ones. Good Luck. At least you were not on a road trip.

Get all 4 new, and sell the remaining ones here or on ebay to recoup some of the cost

Get at least two because you should have a matched pair. Keep the other two on the car. I did that when I blew a rear tire. Have over 58,000 miles on the original Contis on the front.

Try looking on eBay or Craigslist for a used tire in the right size. I had something similar happen to one of my Michelins about a month ago and I'm planning on buying a used replacement with as close to matching tire wear as possible online.

Thumbs up Re: Tires - blew one.

I got a set of V rated hankooks at performanceplustire.com for $92.00 each with free shipping for my 2002 camaro, they have many free shipping deals, try them! First run tires, current manufactures dates on them, great riding and handling. Good luck!

I'd recommend that you do at least one of the two above suggestions. Simply a matter of preference and cost. Tires need to be 'matched up' on the axle to maintain overall performance.

If it were me, I get the DWS Conti's for the front, just to keep the same OEM's on the car for overall asthetics. If you're going to change tire manufacturer, because there are quite a few options equally as good or better than the Conti's, then I'd get all 4 because of asthetics. But that's just me!

I run nittos on my srt4 and honestly they are by far my favorites. I havent looked to see if they are available in srt6 sizes but if they are I recommend them.
