No kidding, I have all kinds of Crossfire stuff going on. A younger group of owners might be just what this car needs.

I sometimes feel that the inmates have taken over the asylum.
As the price of these cars have dropped I see a drop in quality posting, we'll be with the bottom feeders pretty soon.
You're not much better, if with your retirement funds are you could muster together was a crossfire.

How about instead of calling others "bottom feeders" and comparing us with inmates in an asylum, why don't you take a quick glance at yourself, you're on the same forums as us "bottom feeders" since it doesn't seem like you're moving up anywhere soon.

Don't worry, iXbrian. Onehundred80 is just a despicably rude old dude that gets his kicks poking people thru the asylum bars with sticks. Besides an old Crossfire, he owns a number of kittens (now cats) with broken tails, and apparently has little more to do now than lurk about the site causing trouble. Cold and lonely up North, I suppose. Every car site has one, but so sad that he can't find somewhere else to play.

Also, he has this eerie hang-up about spelling, so watch your chubby digits on the keyboard. Or else.

Ease up there, as your someone who has posted all of 45 times I wouldn't go arounding using such strong words to someone who has been on the site for 4 years. Especially someone like 180 who is respected by most people here (I assume) or at least far more so than you. I'm not the most active person on here but I've been on long enough to have more sense than that.

A Canadian refering to someone as a "bottom feeder" Really. I may not agree with you but Ill defend you right to say it. This forum does a great job with such a cross section of car owners. Members from the age of 18- 80 plus. I can find a post on a stereo upgrade just as interesting as a thread on LED lights. or Vegaslegal's post on how to repair a cupholder. I may not post on the political thread but I enjoy Franc's input and passion along with others on this forum. Nothing is better than a good laugh with some of the remarks to and about each other and poor clip art and photoshop humor.
Maybe you should think of doing a 180. your going the wrong way.
I have an Idea for you, start a new Forum. Crossfire Hospice. For X-Fire owners who wish to put their car and themselves on a self induced life support system. A site where you can discuss spark plug gap on Canadian Crossfires, rotating winter tires, ice scrapers and "dang it" she no long fits in the car.

Thought for the day, If you don't like the smell of beer and shame, don't be in the bar at closing

It would seem the bile and vinegar have washed over from politics. Whew! we all are in a bad mood lately.

Cabin fever or just plain p!ssed about the world? Dunno.

But this bottom feeder is putting the top down today and spending an afternoon teasing the local gendarmes.
And then sharing a cold Sam Adams with my 88 year old dad on the back deck.

A last fling before the boss comes home from Connecticut.

roadster with a stick

The word I used was soon not now.

I very much enjoy this forum and if a thread is of little interest or redundant, I ignore it. I also feed on the joy of the new owners and their discoveries of all the neat things these cars can do. But I try not to start the inane "I just washed it and it looks beautiful thread", even though I do and think that every weekend. And as these cars age and stuff fails, this forum will continue to be a valuable source of information for parts, patches, and repairs. Oh...my roadster is back on the road this past weekend (after a complete detailing) and life is good.

I never said anyone was a bottom feeder, but what do you mean by the high lighted statement. We have a few Canadian members here who may think you are calling them bottom feeders. That could be the inference.

I don't think John meant to offend, after all half of south Florida is owned by Canadians!

180, I have to agree with you at least a little bit. Although, a lot of the other members that have posted here have made good points. It's either new members posting their first "hello" threads, people discussing meeting other members, members discussing how good their car is, something that went wrong and everyone telling them to use the search function (sometimes giving the answer to the question), mods, and then sometimes garbage.

Actually, now that I listed all that, the forum still seems overall the same since I joined 3 1/2 or so years ago. There's been some garbage that's crept in lately, but it's promptly chased off with a figurative bat by the older, less ignorant members (not to say all new members are ignorant).

I don't know if it has anything to do with me listing the forum on the Facebook page as the primary source people should go to for questions they have or not... some of the people on there are pretty thick or at least can't use proper grammar. I've been more worried about trying to keep the spam off of it lately. Anyways, back on topic, perhaps some of them have been finding their way over here recently.

Well I set of a little firestorm here and I only said that the site was deteriorating and we would reach the bottom SOON.
I've even been told that I must be in bad financial shape if all I could afford was a Crossfire by a 20 year old who has yet to post one helpful hint and thinks old people glare at him in his car.

They walk among us as we speak.

I think I see some racial overtones here.

Thanks Bluecoupe and you are correct. Not meant to offend you or anyone else from Canada. ( check out some of my post a see what I have said in the past about Ten. that was bad. they just didn't get it.) Since I have been on this Forum there has been only one time that I was TRUELY SERIOUS, and that had to do with a very young man and his admitted driving habits. Although his motives at the time were good, I could not help but respond in a serious way due to honest concerns. WIth that said I may be one of those individuals that have come on board due to the fact that I bought my first Crossfire when dealerships had dropped the price new 11 to 12 thousand below MSRP. I am also one that if this forum was nothing more than a maintenance and tech support forum I would never sign on. Although I am almost 48 years old, I enjoy reading the threads started by the young and new X-Fire owner. I want to see what some of these kids have done with their stereo system, (some are a work of art) or the light kits. and so on. Lets face it, how many pics can one look at of a stock Crossfire. I can also look past grammar and spelling errors. I make plenty myself. I find a spelling mistake a lot less offensive than a quick or short comment to a new member. I just ordered green LED lights for my car. Yes at my age. and a blue set for my son. I got the idea from some of the younger members on this Forum. I am here to learn, seek help, give assistance when I can, and above all have a good time. Make a funny remark about me, even one that some might find offensive, I laugh the loudest. One80 trust me ,it was nothing more than a little jab If my intentions were to be spiteful, there would have been no question on the part of anyone on this forum. Thats not me... If you ever make it to Florida and are not just going straight to Sarasota look me up.

While I have never quite gotten your "sense of humor", the most derogatory posts that I see are usually yours. I really don't think you have to look very far to see where deterioration originates.

I've been here a resonable amount of time and while there are but a few that I have blocked, I find myself ignoring most of your posts as well as others where there is no value to be found. I can only assume that many of your posts are in jest.....but it is usually very hard to tell.

I agree here, Dan, but only with the fact that Dave has a very dry, saracastic sense of humor, but after meeting him a few times, you start to understand.

He is also one of the very few that actually helps people on a very regular basis, usually posting up the exact diagram or pictures to help someone along. I seriously think he has the manual memorized

I agree that Dave needs to take it easy on some of the younger guys, especially ones who are trying to get new products to us, but for the most part, aside from the humor, I consider Dave to be one of the most helpful members here....

My assessment exactly. Dave is a good guy like a rasberry is a nutritious fruit. He comes with stickers

Thank you...... I think.
The humor that I express is a bit dry, and what is actually said has often an underlying joke or meaning in it, not easily seen obviously. I tend to say what I feel rather than puff smoke up someones a s s. I like Monty Python, Black Adder etc so my humor is a bit different to many and there is often an underlying second joke to what is said on those shows, and missed by many.
British humor is a bit different, what can I say if some see an insult.
You cannot say a s s here but donkey is OK?

I've never met 180, but I totally agree with you ..... younger newbies can be a PIA.... Geez, now I sound like the old fart I am! Even when I was an "old newbie", I asked some "stupid" questions when I first joined this forum about 2 yrs ago (maybe less) .... and then I learned to use the search feature. Besides, he's usually spot on when it comes to picking on some people about NOT searching, and then in the same post explaining the solution to their request. We all had to learn to search. That's where 90% of what I now know about our cars has come from. My thought regarding the younger newbies, is that they grew up in the "want it now" time. Drive thru windows, remotes, DVD recorders, Cell phones, and sneakers with lights in the heels. Their learning curve is warped by impatience! Its our impatience, about their impatience, that ticks us off. I understand his wry sense of humor, and because it is mostly my alter-ego, it cracks me up! Just sayin.....
