Default Question: Where do you mount your radar detector?

I have a solo cordless from a few years back. On my previous car, I used to mount it on the windshield right on top of the rear view mirror. That appears to be impossible in this car. Furthermore, the windshield feels/is so much closer to my face that its hard for me to figure out the ideal place to mount it. Any suggestions from anyone?

Ron

If you have rear detection on the radar unit, you need to be able to see it out of the rear window. If you can't see it, you will only pick up radar scatter, which will decrease the effective range of the detector.

I have my radar detector mounted Just below the rear view mirror.

Here is how mine is mounted and it does pick up even at this low point....although Adam has a valid point that this probably decreases range. It works good enough for me and since mine travels with me in defferent cars I did not want to make the mounting permanent.

Got my Solo clipped to the passenger side window visor.
Escort sells a clip that slides into it for this type of mounting. It is up high in the window, out of my face, and the visor holds it at a perfect horizontal position. I haven't been tagged with it on, yet!

Maybe you should trade in your car for an american version. They would then start taking pictures of the passenger instead  8)
