any suggestions for a second car
both times i received rentals from the dealership they were durangos. it provides a very smooth ride as others have stated but it is really big. a little too big unless you've got 2 or more kids and a great dane. i actually regretted having the thing when it was time to return it because i had to fill it back up with gas. my wife has a ford escape which isn't a bad small suv and gets in the low 20 mpg range with a powerful little v-6. it looks much better than the cr-v and rav-4. though the subaru forrester seems to be the most recommended in the small suv class, it is at the bottom of the list in styling because it looks like a station wagon (not a bad thing unless you are buying into the suv look). in the mid-size class the pilot is probably a safe bet, but I like the styling of the envoy. i also think the pacifica is one of the best looking though dcx has people confused as to whether it's an suv or wagon. the problem out there today is that there are so many suvs out there, it's hard to pick just one or two.
if you want a family car that isn't so big you have trouble fitting in your garage, why not try the Dodge Magnum (Hemi of course)? Remember when station wagons were so popular. The Magnum is 50 times better (did I mention it has a hemi?) than those first generation wagons. Magnum, 300C, or Durango would be my choices. I do have a 2001 PT Limited and it's a great car but those others pack a wallop.
