Default HELP!! Seriously

Im ten hours away from my home in Houston..
& I wake up this morning to a dead battery (so i thought)
Took it to autozone had it tested and the machine said the alternators going bad.
Its 189 No big deal but I have no tools here in florida.
The autoshops want 200 labor included for a rebuild.
Will my car make a ten hour trip with a bad alternator?
If not ill buy the tools and do it myslef but where is my alternator at?
I need you fellas

Shouldn't be traveling without your red CROSS list!

Where are you? 10 hours from Houston is a pretty big area. May be a forum member just minutes away!

Park the car in a mall with a tool shop in it and buy the tools as you need them, $20 should cover all you need.

Attached Alternator Removal for XFire. (Note: Germans still refer to a "generator".)

Good Luck,

Glad to hear things worked out. Drive safe, enjoy family the remainder of the week, and stay safe over there!

Seriously, these cars have affordable alternators? Never would have guessed. Even past Catera had $560 Bosch. This is truly good news.
