Default changed cabin air filter

My new cabin air filter arrived on Friday, so I decided to change it out before it got too hot this morning. Thanks to the help from posts on this forum I was able to change out my filter in just a few minutes (including time to take pictures).

I am amazed that any air was flowing through my old filter considering the junk that I found inside. Check it out.

Nice pictures. I had mine replaced as soon as I bought it and it looks as dirty as yours. Now the car is parked in a garage so no trees are growing in the filter.

Yeah, I had leaves in the fan, so I KNEW there would be a lot of junk in the filter too. No big surprises there. Mine is safely in the garage too; no trees in there. haha

I change mine about every other year. If the first time I use it in the spring it smells like wet dog, I know this is the year.

Looks like the OEM filter to me. It has the rigid frame doesn't it? Mine sit outside 24/7/365 and it's under an oak while in my driveway. I change it every spring.

LOL
I bought the filters but
I STILL haven't changed or checked either of mine.
Your pictures should help once I go looking for it.

Funny this would be posted as a look on the Forum today. I was just thinking about whether I should check mine. I only have 18K on my clock and it's been in the garage since birth (me and the previous owner) so I doubt it is as bad as the pictures posted. However, still worth a look. Where did you get your filters and how much were they?

My local Pep Boys stocks the cabin air filter but not the engine air filter. That's special order. Go figure.

changed my filter today. It was about as dirty as yours. Took all of 10 minutes. The filter fell right out no problem.

After seeing your pics i grew curious of how dirty mine might be. Got the filter out quite easily, but when it came to putting it all back... :O i couldn't get the clips back on

the clips were a pain merely because of the angle you have to lay at lol. Just have to push on the lid a little more and they will slide right on
