Porsche Owner Recognition
Beautiful day 69 to 72 degrees, great day to take a 56 mile cruise up to the North Coast for some Lake Erie Perch.
Parked in our usual "protected" spot a couple hundred feet away from the restaurant, and noticed a really nice early 80's red 944 parked about 1/2 way to the entrance.
While sitting in the restaurant, I noticed two guys and a woman walking around our car, checking it out, looking inside, and I think the woman even took a photo of it with her cellphone. Then the woman and one of the guys walked over to the Porsche and drove off.
Wish I could have told them how much I liked their car.
After dinner, my Wife and I went for a barefoot stroll on the beach. On the way home we stopped at McDee's for an iced tea, and I caught up to a fellow XF owner in a red roadster in the drive thru. I pulled up next to him and told him I wished I could drop the top on ours, and asked him what year his car was. He said it was an 05, and I told him about Chrysler replacing the top due to the rear window failure. He said he didn't know anything about the rear window problems, since his top hasn't been up since 2005.

I took the Lake Express Ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon last Friday. I was the last car loaded and it was visible from the rear promenade deck. I walked around a couple times and observed many different people looking down at my SRT6, probably trying to figure out what it was. When I drove off the ferry, one of the deckhands shouted out "nice car". Yep, they sure are.

Even managed to share a 2 hr. ship board romance with an "older woman" from Grand Rapids. (She was 16 and I was 15)
But that's another story.Just out of curiosity Goldwing, how much does it cost to make that trip, Car and passengers?
Chris, I was kind of shocked when he told me the top had been down since 05 myself. I would think that can't be good for the top material.
If I was him, I would definitely try to get a new top out of Chrysler. Or does the window "HAVE to be falling out before they replace it?
"
The cars are mostly below the passenger deck, but the last row can stick out beyond the promenade overhang. I don't think it is quite 350' long but I am a bad judge of length...at least anything over 6". It looked like four rows of 10 cars, packed pretty tight. This is a catamaran style ship. There is another one that goes out of Ludington MI and I think it is larger. My round trip at fall prices (car and passenger + taxes) was $300. Six weeks earlier it was $350. I would drive the 350 mile trip if it was coming out of my pocket, but it was a business trip. That must have been your girlfriend's older Mom I was hitting on in the cabin Not.
