Drag Racing Times
This thread was posted under the racing forum and received 13 irrelovent responses.I have a 05 coupe automatic,(NonSRT) that turned 15.12 and 92.6 mph at a local drag strip.I am asking if this is a good,bad or average time for a non SRT coupe ????
Its slightly below average, but slightly better reaction times, 60ft's and DA can change that to an above average time. Keep hitting the track and you will improve.
I'm thinking he must have hit 0-60 in 6-6.1 secs. Not so bad considering;
1970 Boss 302 = 6.4 & 14.7 or 1970 427 Vette 6.0 & 14.1.
Especially since we get about 25 mpg !!!!!

The best 1/4 mile time I've seen in any magazine road test for a "STOCK" automatic NA Crossfire Coupe is 15.18 sec. That's with a professional driver.
Best time for a "STOCK" manual tranmission Crossfire Coupe I've come across in the Auto Magazines was 14.7 sec. by Road & Track.
If Mr. Creek ran a 15.12 sec. 1/4 mile, then he's runnin with the Pro's.
Of course, most cars get faster as they get older and you put more miles on them.
(Unsolicited infomercial)
It's been documented by several people here on the forum, a NeedsWings CAI knocks about 4/10's (on average) off the automatic NA's 1/4 mile time.

Thanks for the input,this car has only 11,000 miles,it is completely stock,I dont intend to put many miles on it,I made 5 passes with it and was just curious to see if those times were average.I have a yellow roadster that gets driven on weekends in good weather,it has about 40,000 miles on it, maybe .next year I will take it to the strip and try it out.I live only a mile from the track.I wa surprised that this Xfire can run as fast as a Hemi Charger.
