I was wondering if anybody could help me with this. I have a 2004 Limited coupe that stock weighs 3084 lbs. I replaced the stock airbox with a DCAI from Rob which felt somewhat lighter than the stock assembly. I also did the Needswings 304 SS downpipes with no cats and an SRT cat-back with 2 bosals in place of the stock muffler. I have also removed my passenger seat. I don't have the stock pieces to weigh other than the seat, nor do I have a means of weighing such items. Does anybody have a guess toward my weight? Thanks.

Find a nearby truck center and get them to weight the vehicle for you.

I don't know the rates. You'd have to call them to find out. They may vary from center to center, depending on if they even want to do this for you.
Auto wrecking yards or crushers will also have scales if they do a lot of recycling. They need to be able to calculate the scrap weight for their rates to pay and this may be a better avenue than truck centers. Gravel quarries, etc. Lots of options.

 

I know there's a gas station along the high way where i live that has a scale. Think it costs maybe $5.

 

I'd guess you weight about 183 and could stand to lose 5 lbs. Is this a trick question?

 

Try to keep in mind tire and wheel weight if you are considering new ones. I forget the exact effect for every pound on the tire and wheels, but it's significant.

 

Also if there is a farmer's cooperative, ( seed & feed ) nearby, they too have scales.

 

I'm still trying to figure out the difference between "curb weight" and "gross weight"....

 

Curb weight = dry weight of vehicle

Gross weight = Vehicle plus occupants, fluids... max weight, in otherwords.

BTW, your weight will be alot more than 3084 lbs when you put it on the scales. Neither oil, water, gas, nor your iPod are taken into account with that figure.

Here's mine. SRT-6 coupe with me seated in the car. I don't remember how much gas was in the car but at least 1/3 tank.

My local track I go to has a scale which I haven't used yet. My 17" wheels with Nitto drag radials weighs 5 lbs less than stock. So that's 20 lbs across the board. I always remove my seat and everything in the trunk when I hit the track. But it looks like your weight reduction is just for normal every day use.
