I found an interesting web site ...
If you are bored at work and looking for a little fun ... try this site! You basically add the hp that your car currently has and the weight and it calculates your 1/4 mile time. It seems pretty accurate in a fun sense (be sure to calculate in around a 12-15 % drive train loss when deciding on rwhp: 215 hp - 12% = 189.2 hp it calculates a 14.7 1/4 mile time for a stock crossfire. Try it with all your cars = its a fun tool. http://www.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html
Good find and fun to play with. My Vette weighs 3460 and ran a 11.92 @ 119 mph. It calculated my rear wheel HP a bit high. I would think it used a linear torque curve for calculations.
