Question Help

My ignition stopped working, would not unlock and broke key. Anyway I have replaced the steering lock assembly but havent gotten the new key or cylinder for it yet. The problem I have is the car thinks it was stolen I think. when I reconnect the battery I can turn on the ignition and it will turn over but not start. after three tries it disables the starter. What have I missed or do I need to finish the repair before it will start? Thanks all. Tim

Do you have the FOB at the ignition assembly? The rfid chip in the FOB needs to be located at that antenna. Be careful, too many attempts to start the car without fixing it will result in the computer frying itself thinking the car is being stolen. Can't think of anyhting else with the info given...

Pity you found this site too late, you could have saved yourself some money by not buying that new part and the lock is not required either.

Thankyou, it was the sensor for the key fob that was the issue. on reassembly.
