Question !HELP! Question about lower pan!

Okay so i hit a rock in my Xfire and it busted my lower pan, and i have a friend who works at mercedes benz and has a pan that he can get for free, but i need to know if the crossfire pan has a rear sump pan or a front sump pan? Thanks

From what i know ,it is the same pan used in the e320/ m112 etc it comes in to pieces a upper and a lower , check to make sure u don"t need both

Its just the lower pan, i dont need the upper, and i thought the motor was all the same as the slk 320?? . . . . . . but the pan i need is it front sump or rear sump?

N/A & SRT6 both show front in the parts lookup :
Chrysler 05101189AA

MB 05101189AA ( I think - don't quote me on that )

I have the crysler stock number 05101189AA for the lower pan, the one my friend can get me for free the number is . . . A1120100628 i think it is the same part but i dont really have a way to cross reference them

Surefire way : take busted pan off ( you gonna have to do this anyway ), chunk it in another car and drive over to ur friend's place and compare parts ( hole alignment etc ..... )

to answer your question.... it is a front sump.... the big hangy down part..... (on the CAR!)

If it is different, you could always repair the one with a hole in it

At the Chrysler dealership they can confirm if the Mercedes part number is correct by checking it through Dealer Connect. When they put the Chrysler number in the system it will give them a "dual id" which is the Mercedes part number. Or you can all OeDiscountParts.com and they are a Chrysler and Mercedes dealership and can check through their system.
