Default Coolant light goes on, then goes off, then goes on...

Hmmmm, cars isn't getting hot, I think maybe it needs coolant.

Does the Xfire take special coolant? I have to put special coolant in my other cars but have never had this changed since I bought the car 6 years ago. What type of coolant goes in the Xfire?

thanks

This is the 50/50 mix to ADD to top off the system

I think you are correct. IT is right on the border line for the sensor and when it heats up and expands it goes out. mine has done that before.

Does it come back on again while the engine is still hot, or does come on after the car has cooled down? Your title does not explain it clearly. The problem may lie in the sensor.

Yah, goes on and off randomly while driving at 75 to 90 mph. Seems to go off under 50mph.

If it has been six years, you better buy enough to do a coolant change. You may have some gunk built up on the sensor giving you a false reading.

Are you sure it is the coolant light and not the windshield washer light? It has happened before....lol....If you are sure it is coolant, take the above advise and change out the fluid...
