LOL - keep it coming Boba. You keep the discussions rolling - a good younger view, without the 'James Effect'. Since I'm the other younger forum member, I'll have to try and support you more often... Although, I don't have much to say on this topic. I don't have a DVD player in the car, and don't really know what the heck I'd do with one if I had one... but, hey, if that's your style I just hope you have as great taste in movies as you do in cars!

Ahhhh, Sh**! You had to go and do it didn't you! You just couldn't leave well enough alone. Tdancer was bad enough, but Boba had to push it right over, "Good Ol Boba' has to tempt fate." :sigh:

Well, they said :ahem: HIS name three times. You all know what that means... A funny blue tinted version of the Target mascot will appear on the left of some very bad responses here pretty soon.

Boba, next time, tempt fate in your Xfire, not on the board please. I have enough flamboiantly stupid messages to read at work, I don't need :ahem: HIM adding more in my recreational reading.

OK Bobba, I finally figured out in my mind why I have such a problem with your position on this:

From your posts, you seem to think that if you want to do something, it is your "given right" to do so.

I just don't agree with that position. Your desires are not rights, it is just that simple.

And what really gets me is that if you truly believe that everyone has a "right" to do what they want, when they want, then you should have no problem with "Enzo driving 10 mph under the speed limit", because that is also his "right", isn't it?

But it seems that your rights should supercede poor old Enzo's don't they?

The term "right" has become entirely overused, almost to the point of making the word meaningless.

I guess I have a problem deciding when to take you at your word, and when to take you with a "grain of salt".

OK, I said what I had to say. Now I am done with it, I promise!

I find myself everytime just wanted to respond with a ignorant response such as *middle finger* ... and leave it as that

but then I go into detail...

so for this time....

*Middle Finger*

In reply to: it's official, the drug lords new car of choice....

i was at the car wash with HTTP410 this morning when another crossfire pulled up. Yep, two (16 & 17 year old) kids with a black & silver XFire with new spinner wheels & a digital video navigation system.... makes me sick................

I only saw one reply to this that I agree with (PUNISHER). I will keep reading. The fact that you assume these kids are drug dealers because of the car appearence is not only stereotypical, but prejudice as well. Guilty by vehicular profile. TRUE criminals drive all types of cars from the tricked out to the most refined, but people should not be judged by their cars. Comments on how you dislike the car's appearence is okay, but the drug dealer comment was way out of line.

As a matter of fact. I saw a woman picking up her kids in a cadillac (SUV). There were at soccer practice. She had spinners too. So is she a drug dealer, or a lady that likes what she likes?

Too some people this might actually be a shock! But I've seen a site QUITE the same all the time at my old high school! ... and I live in the boonies people! Goodrich has one traffic light! ... its just the fade of cars right now to shine !

I check this site all the time. But have not posted . this time I have to say that i like driving nice cars and always have.

my cars have been:
stealth rt/turbo
300m (modded to over 300hp)
crossfire

I have to admit this post reminds me of the days of being pulled over to just to be asked if it was my car i was driving. It realy pissed me off.
I have lived on my own since age 18 and always paid for my cars on my self. So if i want to weave in and out of traffic or drive my car 140 +mph then this is not a right but a privledge so as long as no one gets hurt its all good.the nlaw says its a privledge and till they revoke it try not to change lanes into the one with the black crossfire doing 140+

Boba take a deep breath and relax, your usual well expressed text is getting confused and difficult to understand. Your middle finger salute is recognized though and perhaps on target - however I might add - IMHO in cockpit distraction might = Boba RIP - be careful out there.

Absolutely! I'm into shooting anything. So if you're ever down here we'll see what damage we can do.

After played a few hours of some aggressive street hockey and then getting some ice cream... I can think with a clear head again

Sorry for flickin ya off JSJS ... but its all I have to say about this subject anymore... I'm with JT on this one ... my parents did not buy this car for me... I did pay this out of my own checking account... and the car is registered under MY name... my car... my right to get a ticket... my right to zoom around as long as I don't put someone else in danger...

And thank you CCrossfire... I understand that many people call it a distraction... really while driving with a movie in the player... most of the time all you do is hear the movie... and the movies that I watch... I've seen well over 50 times each ... so i know what happens! but I just like having it playing in the background! Beats that horrid thing called music... Check it out sometime! I'm sure if you try it... you'll see you dont caught yourself ever STARRING at the dvd player... you catch yourself at breaks... lights... stop signs... traffic jams... looking at the screen... no more then someone looking at a radio when changing the station because NPR has some stupid announcement about pottery again... F'ing NPR....

LOL

Boba,

I was a young lad once and would've loved to have a DVD player in my car.....IF DVD's existed. I guess an old faux wood-grained beta machine wouldn't have looked so sharp on the dash of my 79 Stang.

But I digress.

I guess what fascinates me (and it's none of my business) but how does a guy your age afford 1. a Crossfire and 2. the insurance and 3. all the mods? If this isn't your parents's money and you are in college, can you let me know what they hell I'm doing wrong because I wanna be doing whatever you are!

haha sure...

1) I worked for a Wireless networking business for a couple years... before it got to were people learned they could do it themselves ...

2) I work for a IDS company now

3) ... Someone that worked for DCX their entire life passed away this Feb. I was in the will ... so this money was transfered to me and I keep most of it for college and the rest went to his honor of a DC car...

You know the part about being a drug dealer was a joke right?

Don't even talk to me about insurance. For me - the car is dirt cheap compared to the insurance... they're sucking me dry!

Unfortunately for me, by the time I reach the "magic age" my lease will be up...

Actually, I think the problem is that insurance companies are run by some angry, bitter people, who - not unlike some forum members - assume that since most younger drivers say "wouldn't it be awesome to drive my xfire 190 mph down the freeway shoulder while watching MTV on my DVD player and weaving in and out of innocent bystanders" that we'll actually DO it.

Do they think we're that CRAZY? I think I speak for Boba and myself when I say - just because we say its cool, doesn't mean we immediately run out to the car to see what destruction we can cause today.

Although, now that I mention it - Boba lets go run the dragon backwards this weekend! Could be fun...

For $300 a month anyone working at McDonalds can afford a crossfire and the insurance depends on your driving record
