Default FYI - Motor Mount problem solved

A couple of weeks ago I discovered that the left/drivers side motor mount on my XF SRT was broken. The engine was moving so much upon acceleration that it was hitting the hood. I ordered two new mounts from Deutsche Parts e-Bay store. You have to buy both mounts, left & right. The price was $115.69 + $12.00 shipping. I think the price is pretty good because most of the other prices I've found were for a lot more. One was over $200 for one mount. The new mts are made by HAMBURG TECHNIC. When I compared them to the old OEM mts, the new ones seemed much better made; bigger/stronger. I was considering strapping w/cable the engine down to prevent future mount failures like some other XF owners have done. Since the new mts seem to be much improved over OEM, I no longer feel the need to use cables to keep the engine from moving. That "fix" always seemed like a last resort to me. I am very happy to have the new/stronger mounts installed at a good price. Just thought I'd pass this info along to other XF owners because I've read of others having the same problem.

Very good info. With the SRT, it's not IF, but WHEN.
