Default Outstanding Tread Wear

30,000 miles ago I bought 2 sets of Blizzacks (265/35/19s) V rated "Winter Tires" when Tire Rack was dumping them for about $100 each......since I'm cheap & rarely take the car over 149 mph....I figured it would be OK. They still have a full 6 32nds depth left!!!!!!!!.....If I keep this first set on till there is 2 32nds left......that means (since they start out with 11 32nds).....they are lasting 54,000 miles!!! They are wearing evenly across & still have deep sipes showing. I ave over 25 mpg & love the way they feel.

In another year and a half or so.......I'll put the 2nd set (stored in the basement) on the car.

Never dreamed a "snowflake tire" could last this long driving them year-round.

Laugh if you like.

I'd just be careful on how long you store those extra tires, and where/how you store them.

If you keep them too long, and don't use, they may be prone to dry rot, or flat spots.

Losing out on a bargain is one thing, but putting faulty tires on your car could impact your fun (and be a safety issue)...

I keep them in the basement near the liter box that I have to change twice a week......every time I change the liter....I rotate the tires 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Glad it has worked out well for you, Chris, I definitely had my doubts

If you still have that set you only use in winter......you'll get use out of them for many-many years!!

Maybe they killed this tire cause it was "too" good?

Tires should be stored flat, away from electric motors and in a cool spot.

Flat.....good idea. But then I won't have any excuse to touch, smell & rotate them twice a week....

I still have mine, but they are only for winter and I think last year was the last winter she will ever see, so maybe I will sell them on here . I use a soft summer tire I am lucky to get 8-10K miles out of with the several track days per year I attend.
