Default Fix for Interior Squeeks n Rattles

Hey you lot,
If any one wants some foam sound deadening strips, and felt strips that are pre-cut to 2" x 1" on a sheet.....
Working in the Auto developments industry I have access to loads of this stuff as free issue by the manufacturers to use as required...

I asked, and discovered a quantity of these materials as "potential" surplus.... as my supervisors are all petrol heads and motor entheusiasts...
So, if any one is prepared to mail me a prepaid A5 envelope to your own address to take aprox 80grams
total weight, I will gladly mail these out to you for free for a short while...

Mail me privately for contact details........

These things are used to deaden rattles, squeeks and plastic rattles etc by tier one motor suppliers of interior trim and exterior body panels at our development plants...

In exchange for a batch block of these materials for your local group to share.....
if some one is able to obtain a few cans of that black rubber spray in the USA and send it...

and some one else... a couple of headlamp rubber bulb access covers...

and some one else... some headlamp lens restorer mentioned in these columbs from the USA.......

I'd be delighted and glad to share these items out on mass.

I will have a bunch of these to share, at Castle Coombe Race Day June 30th and the XF Mini Meet on Sunday June 24th soon.

My car is totally squeek and rattle free !!!

Regards

I fix my squeaks with Waxoyl. It lubricates the conflicting surfaces. It is a British product and damages nothing. gary

Hi BigJames.
Ive no idea about shipping cans maybe put plenty of foam round them and then it doesnt matter as they will just arrive.... maybe class them as "canned rubber" .... that covers a multitude of sins :-)

It would have to be declared HAZ-MAT and would be quite costly. If the material was not declared and an X-ray scan reveals undeclared aerosol, there will be a HUGE financial penalty levied to the shipper for each can shipped.

I wonder if they could be surface transported by ship ... not air ??

My seat creaked where it was pressed hard up against the plastic crossmember..
I stuck a few strips of this self adhesive felt behind seat on panel.... no more creaks :-)
Also, the whole centre console parts creak, so did the glove box and the rear hatch panels, these foam strips and felt cured the lot.
