Just took Fred in for his 5 year Lifetime Powertrain Warranty inspection......84,413 miles....zero charge.....zero recommendations. They didn't try to sell me anything?????

On the inspection checklist there is a "deal Killer" ....

2c. Does the vehicle have modifications ............

I assume any mods to the powertrain will kill the LPW.


So anyway, Fred's covered for another 5 years!

 

Good for you! Hope you don't need it though.

 

They have already done 2 things under the LPW....

1. Installed new valve covers.

2. Leaking rear axle.

zero charges. I've only paid for 2 headlight bulbs I installed myself.

I actually received a reminder in the mail from Chrysler that the free 5 year inspector was coming up????????

 

Geeze, I just went through a huge list in my head (a challenge in itself especially lately, I tell you) of folks I know wondering what 'fred' had passed. Please folks, if you post something worded like this, expect older folks like me wonder how close we are to 'passing'... Be still racing heart..... Jeeze, later on I know I'll be laughing!

 

I was thinking the same thing except I somehow thought the OP's cars are named Fred and Wilma (or is that someone else?). I was wondering what happened.

 

Sorry, I should have said "Fred Passed the inspection".

I was just stunned Chrysler is actually sending out notifications in advance reminding people to get these inspections.....I always figured they wanted people to forget & if not done within 60 days of the 5-10, etc. year anniversary date the LPW would be void & they would get out of the obligation.

 

PS, there are thousands of little multicolor flags sticking out of the ground in my neighborhood......
