water damage could be from a leak that was never fixed like a door seal for example or it could be the car was in a flood and has a restored title as for the link the guy seem to have no knowledge of the car cause he talks about 19/20 rims the wheels on the car are the stock 18/19 combo all xfires came with id ask alot of questions if you want this car id do more shopping around and get lower mileage dont just take the first xfire you check out cause you seem to want one bad lol...

Get a Carfax report. Also, if you have a local shop you trust, have them put it on a lift and look it over.

One way to check for flood damage if you are not sure what to look for is to look at the seat tracks to see if they are rusty.
If they are it is a good sign it may have been under water. It's not a sure fire way but an easy place to start.

I paid 10,000 for my 04 XF. 29,500 miles. From a dealer. They wanted 16,00.
Now is the time to buy before it gets warmer out. Hard to sell a sports car in the winter.
Good luck!
You're in SC, kind of warmer.

i got mine for 10 grand with only 6,000 miles on it i would never buy an xfire with high mileage there are to many out there with low mileage even though they have been proven to get alot of life out the engine its still better to start out with something just barely broken in...

I agree, Easley, they are hard to find with low miles and under 10K. When I was looking, most of the cars I found had 50K or higher on the clock. The beauty about these cars is that if they were taken care of, 50/75K is not that bad. I would venture to bet that the low mileage cars others have found are the exception, not the norm, for these cars - especially with a 10K budget. I found this one that has 50K on it in Asheville, NC, but I am not sure how close it is to you:

2005 Chrysler Crossfire Amazing Ride !!

I can't tell for sure from the pictures, but it looks like it has plugs where the fog lights should be, so it might be a Base model and not a Limited

Also, I have no idea how it has been maintained - the add doesn't say much. Being owned by a 20 year old could be a blessing or a curse. Most dudes that age, with a car like this, would handle it with kid gloves and treat it probably better than they treat their girlfriend. Then there some that would rag the crap out of a car like this. Being he defaulted on his loan and now his dad is getting rid of it kinda tells me that the owner may not be very responsible. Might be worth a phone call - looks like he is willing to deal.

Good luck - I hope you find one that makes you happy!!

The "water damage" that most refer to is water leaking into the trunk area and damaging some electrical components that are mounted below the foam blocks in the trunk. Others may correct me, but I think this problem is more common with the SRT model of the Crossfire with the fixed wing (I know mine had this problem). I am not sure how/if the N/A model is affected - maybe some N/A owners will chime in and let you know.

The other area of "water damage" is the seal on the bottom of the doors - it will trap water behind it and eventually cause rust on the bottom of the door. This is a problem for both the N/A and the SRT and can be repaired rather easily. Most likely, if the seller isn't a forum member, they probably have no idea about either of these problems.
