Default Eurocharged Questions

Hey guys,

I've searched around a little bit, but never got the definite answer I was searching for.

The list of upgrades I plan on doing are as follows.

NW Single CAI
Rear CAT delete
and possibly the larger 74 MM throttle body if someone can convince me and give me a link to where I can find one

With those upgrades, if I followed it up with a Eurocharged tune, what would I be sitting at HP and Torque wise? To the crank and to the wheels if that information is available.

Thanks again guys.

Richie

You can find the 74 MM TB's on eBay sometimes and plenty on car-part.com ( just make sure the part number is A 113 141 0125 - you'll find them under the MB V8 cars )

I have not seen any physical evidence ( pictures of dyno sheets etc ) of the actual gains.
I do have the CAI, the 74 MM and the Eurotune and can only say that it is a noticeable gain seat-of-the-pants.

yes, but that does not address having a CAI and 74 MM TB and a EuroTune.

BTW, forget about the cat-back, that is for music only, no HP/Torque gains.

No two cars are going to be the same. The only way to know for sure is to dyno or take it to the track before/after the mods and work out the numbers.

Generally speaking with the standard intake and tune mods you will be ~210-215 at the rear wheels. Most people see 170-175rwhp stock on the NA if I'm not mistaken.

Went and checked bjames numbers he posted. Think he did 74mm with the MB airbox and tune. Stock was 168 after was 208. So ~40whp gain is typical I believe.

So basically I'll be right around 250 to the crank and somewhere around 210 to the wheels? Respectively.

Taking the rear cats off won't open the flow up at all?

And it's an N/A. My bad. Should've mentioned that. I could've got some real nice SRT-6 numbers that would've really impressed me!

Exhaust mods don't do much on the NA xfire but make more noise. (Or sometimes lose power). Getting more air into the engine is more important.

So should I save the money and keep the rear cats on?

Depends on how loud you want to be :P

If you're going for the most Hp per dollar I'd say keep em as your getting 0hp with that mod. Some people like it louder though, read some threads if you decide to go that route as drone can be a problem in the coupe.

Well with the super 44 series muffler that's on it already its already plenty loud. Drones a bit. But it's a good kind of drone. To me anyways. Long as I love it that's all that matters
Well I guess I'll leave those cats on.

If its already got some drone doing the cats will most likely exadurate it. Can check through some of the exhaust threads to be sure. Searching for drone should lead you in the right direction (use the google search bar at the top over the built in forum search)

If their's a possible way of losing power then no thanks. She's plenty loud. Just thought it might help her breathe a bit. Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm excited to get the intake and tune done. Intakes in the mail and my new springs are as well. She should be all finished up before summer hits.

When I asked Mike at Eurocharged Canada the question last Fall he said the tune alone is good for approx 27HP over stock and the 74mm TB & Needswings single CAI add about another 20HP. Optimistic total of 47HP, but fairly close to what bjames got given that it's all approximate and will vary from car to car.

That's really good horsepower gains for a little over a grand. Now the question is, who will let me borrow a tuning USB cord

There are plenty of aftermarket mufflers available that will beef up the sound. Here are a couple of clips from my old N/As. The ANSA provided the least amount of drone.

Is it the same tune that they offer on their website for the N/A.
