3mm Carbon fiber vinyl
I was wondering if anyone had wrapped there center consoles or the side panels in this. The reason i am asking is I am concerned that the panels wont fit when i try to put them back because in order to do it and make it look good i would be wrapping it around the sides and a little on the back
boy im answering all your posts
i personally wouldn't wrap the whole console or any panels just do the smooth silver parts and maybe the a pillars or headliner in cf wrap just my .02 cents...
yeah yeah haha
Haha I know keep it coming!! But yeah i was gonna wrap the silver parts and the plastic parts that run up the frame by the window in the interior im just wondering it will go back on the the extra stuff behind it

Easley try the search feature using carbon fiber wrap as key words. I know several on here have done c/f projects. Bluecoupe (Steve) did his headliner I think and bmorgan did the center instrument panel if memory serves. SRT 6 offered a hydro dip c/f process in the past. He did many panels to his car including the srt wheels. Check out his photo gallery. A few members have bought and installed kits with stick on pieces made to fit our interior panels, search c/f interior kits. You should be able to find a lot to read about. Good luck.
Yeah I tried but I couldn't seem to find anyone that has done what I'm trying to do, and I don't like the kits because they show the edge of the dash
Yep, I did. See my gallery.
And I'm taking it out. Even stretched very thin, the material interferes with switches and I could never get it to properly adhere in the deep sockets around the switches and such.
Yes, I use the recommended adhesive primer and it was as clean as...well, anything!

Well, it looks great-from 5 feet away. I'm pretty good with my hands, but was unable, even after a few tries, to make it adhere to the concave surfaces. Like by the radio where it sinks in. That's the other problem.
I live in fear of having to use my Hazard flasher switch-it takes 10-15 tries to get it to reset. Just too tight of clearances in these switches.
Sorry, bud. Great material-just not for us!

Like xfireon20s mentioned - do your headliner and pillars. I have had mine done for a while and am getting ready in the spring to carry it through the entire hatch because it looks so good. Pictures do not do it justice...
I'm defiantly going to do the pillars but im holding off on the headliner... I am going to try some of the center console just to see what it looks like
Just a heads up, if your headliner is stock color, the CF will not look right against it, too much contrast IMO. I had it this way while we were messing with the car and it looked silly.
As far as the center console, you are welcome to try, but I have personally seen 4 of them done, and they were extremely meticulous, skilled people and none of them could make it work 100%, it would either pull away in the recesses of the pieces, it would interfere with buttons working, vents opening/closing, ect.
Do what you like, but most have found that painting the dash is the best alternative, the pieces are not cheap and covering them with glue can get messy and possibly expensive. just sayin'
