Default BAS ESP

Can anyone tell me if you have had this light come on?

I guess I will be taking a trip to the dealer tomorrow.

Any insight would be appreciated!

It is possible for the wheel positions sensor to lose calibration.

There is a procedure to fix it. It involves turning the wheel from left to right stop. It is in the owners manual so look it up and do it. Might save a trip to the shop.

Can't find it in the owner's manual. Can you give me a hint on where that would be?

I removed my battery yesterday to clean it (here in the hot Arizona heat, they leak a little bit all of the time and need to be monitored frequently).

When I put it back in and drove off, My BAS ESP light was on as well. I drove about a 1/4 mile, made two regular turns, and it went off.

try starting at page 132. on page 135 you'll find the procedure for resetting the system after a power interruption.

mine was on and the dealer wound-up replacing a module.

good luck

Thanks! Went in the car and turned it one and moved the wheels to the left and then to the right and then drove it and the light never came on!

Thanks for the advice. I knew someone would be able to help me!

It is covered in the manual. When I installed my illuminated door sills you have to remove the battery. After install and re-connecting battery this light came on. The manual says if the battery is disconnected this may happen and to do a full right lock then full left lock on the steering wheel to reset the sensor and the light goes off.

It is the Electronic Stability Program
