You folks need to drive your cars a bit more before the lot rot takes over the car. If it wasn't for my trips to the Dragon, my XF's would have much lower miles. Both have less than 40K on the clock right now.

I just bought a '04 Coupe with 47k miles. I thought it was low mileage, but now I am beginning to think the opposite!

47k is not high by most standards - these guys with super-low miles are just being smug - but it won't last if they use them as itsky suggests!
Over here around 40k is thought of as relatively low - certainly below average.
The most expensive Crossfire for sale in the UK at the moment (AFAIK) is an SRT coupe for for £11k with only 12k miles - that's really low - amazing no-one's bought it yet. Really low mileages are becoming quite scarce now - even in our little country! There are a couple of NAs with 14k miles @ £8k (been for sale for ages) and a few with around 20k but's that about it for really low milers. A few more at 30-50k but the vast majority are well over 50k. Shows they've been enjoyed I guess which is what counts. It seems they're cheap to buy compared to the US but running costs are high - premium is around £1.50/litre = about $8.77/US Gallon!! But that's a rant for another thread!

Since I started this thread......I can hijack it.......

So I traded in one of my XFs for a Ford Escape Titanium AWD 2.0 L turbo......best 0-60 I've read about.....6.42 seconds.....not bad for a 3800 lb CUV. It's the tech that I really get a kick out of though.....voice actuated phone-climate-navigation & radio, blind spot warning, back up camera, remote hatch, remote start, keyless entry (just have key in pocket) , push button start, front and rear proximity sensors, cross traffic sensor, curve control......even parallel parks itself.

The touch screen looks high definition.......you can even play video/internet/ & wireless music from your phone........a second screen in front of the driver shows a lot of different info.....a cool image will show which wheels are being powered at any given time.

This 2.0 turbo is a $1000'option on the Explorer, Edge & Taurus......all are much heavier than the escape.....in those vehicles you can only get it with FWD. It's also the same engine in the Focus ST.....Evoque & a Jaguar.

A place called "Goose Pond" that years ago was a wetland reserve then turned into farmland in the late 60's / early 70's and a few years ago they turned it back into a wetland reserve. So needless to say, you don't want to do a high speed run on that nice long stretch anymore. I still drive through there about once a week and you would not believe the amount of dead birds on the highway (just regular birds after bugs).

Nice, srt in blue and 12 seond time must be fun, somedays I kinda wish for the extra power an srt would provide on the otherhand i get banged around enough in the less than perfect streets in my 2004 CF. The intake throttle body mod , is it available for non super- charged CF ?

If you cannot get the 74mm TB, gasket, and 74mmMAF housing (you use the old maf sensor in the 74mm MAF housing when you upgrade) just do the MAF screen removal and elbow baffle removal. That mod alone is good for about 12 HP. Research screen removal and elbow debaffle for these few free HP's. Down the road you'll want the eurocharged tune, and when you get the 74mm TB (and related) they will reflash your tune for free as reflashes are for life. Good luck, and have fun!
